But if the white men do not comply with it they will lose the aforementioned goods. And if we do them this favor and concession it is for the part Your Highness has in it, since we know that it is in your service too that these goods are taken from our Kingdom, otherwise we should not consent to this. . . .


Sir, Your Highness has been kind enough to write to us saying that we should ask in our letters for anything we need, and that we shall be provided with everything, and as the peace and the health of your Kingdom depend on us, and as there are among us old folks and people who have lived for many days, it happens we have continuously many and different diseases which put us very often in such a weakness that we reach almost the last extreme; and the same happens to Our children, relatives and natives owing to the lack in this country of physicians and surgeons who might know how to cure properly such diseases. In January 6th I went to the Maroon Festival in Accompong, St. Elizabeth, to celebrate the 274 years of the peace treaty between the Maroons and the British. The maroons are an autonomous community of Africans who escaped from enslavement as soon as the ship came from Africa (mainly Congo and Cameroon) they still hold a lot of their traditions in tact from Africa. I’m 25% maroon and it was great to be back here.

It’s divided to damn near a molecular level and until the continent fixes that it’ll never thrive. There’s 54 countries. From the outside looking in I think there should at least be half of that and way less languages, and a official language taught in each nations school. Communication is key.

Thinking like the colonial man right here ...
Look at the EU: language and cultural barriers did not keep individual countries from coming together to reach the common goals of economic prosperity and social stability (even though it took two world wars to make that happen).

In the grand scheme of things, the diversity of cultures is far from a negative factor when exploring the ways in which Africa can prosper.

Also, there are only 54 countries spread over an area three times larger than the US, which has 50 states. If anything, there is a geographical argument for more countries, not less.

Contrary to what I’m about to say, I definitely don’t view the diversity has negative. I view too much diversity as hindering.

In the America’s u got Spanish, English, and French, Portuguese, and some Indigenous languages softly sprinkled here n there too. There’s over 2000 languages in Africa. How come together with all of that distance? Should be condensed imo.

You do realize that you sound just like these folks who tell Black people that their appearance has to conform to that of the majority in order to succeed in corporate America, don't you?

About the geography: do you feel sympathy for gentrifiers when they move in the neighborhood and proceed to change the street and landmark names because "it's less confusing to them," regardless of the history that goes with those places?
