Air Jordan 1 HIGH ‘85 "Neutral Grey" - Early 2021

I mean.. its going to drop. Its a matter of time. If I can get a decent offer in on EB now at around 450 I'll do it now. May end up going lower but I can't see them going lower than 400 and that's a stretch.

We'll see though.

That cloth talk :nthat:

Trust me, if it wasn't for that GOAT credit, I would be pump faking OD right now :lol

remember in 2016, when banned 1s and royal 1s were "Trash" because they WERE tumbled leather

I didn't hear that.

After shattered backboards people equate tumbled leather with better leather, and didn't care if it wasn't smooth like Chicago's and the 2013 release.

There was def people complaining about the tumbled leather, still a couple in the 1s thread to this day. It's rare, but I definitely saw it.

It's rare, because I was one of them and was in the minority.

So it's something I can speak on.

Dudes didn't have the royals and black and reds. So suddenly the 2015 and 2016's became great because they were attainable and the 2013's became garbage with bad leather to almost everybody.

Only a few that complained about the brighter shades and tumbled leather. They were more than happy to get them. Just like a lot of people are happy with those mids and painting them, versus spending $500 and $800.

It's also waves of people getting on the bandwagon. There's people who were in from the beginning. There's people who hopped on after the 2013 royals and their resell value and there's people within the past two years.

2013 Royal release date was epic. Some how I couldn't land the bred from that "mold run". I remember people preferring the smooth swoosh over the tumbled though.

I always thought they should've been smooth because that's what they were in 85 and that's what we've been chasing after. But the 2015/16 tumbled stuff didn't bother me. Overall I felt they were better.

What Magic33 Magic33 said about SBB is on point though. Whatever few cries about 2013's being better got pretty much drowned and overshadowed with the SBB leather. And for like 3 years EVERY shoe from then on got compared to SBB's.

2015 Chicagos and 2018 Shadows got done EXTREMELY well for having great leather AND being smooth.

The 2016/17 Black pairs are pretty bad. The colors are off and the glitter issue is disgraceful. I don’t even look at my Royals at this point. And I don’t mind not having the Reds at all. They would probably be a glittery mess if I had them.

So far, the fix/prevention for this seems to be to keep them outside the box in a dark place. That’s been my strategy with the Shadows and Black Toes. Both of which, were starting to show some really light signs of glitter before I began doing that.
