Air Jordan 5 OG “Black Metallic” Reimagined 2025 !

These probably gonna end up being a GTD for me, and by that I mean, let me head to the store on RD, ask for my size, and see how they make me feel when I pull them out of the box. If the 7th grade version of me pops up, I’ll cop.

Toebox looks good enough ankles are slimmed down. These are good enough.

This is madness. Whomever states there are perfect have never worn the OGs. Shape looks a bit better than the '16s, but these are FAR from sleek and the entire shoe is not slimmed down or much better. The did great with the 3s in terms of shape, padding, and toe box, but these 5s didn't get that attention.

I LOVE this shoe; had them in '90 and they were amazing. '16s were boot-like on foot and the toe box wasn't good (and I didn't even care about the tongue material). I sold them when I heard they were re-releasing as I barely wore them anyway, but hard pass on these. As much as I want them back in rotation, I'm not falling for this crap. I'll be patient, and if they never do them justice, I'll live without them.

Look im not saying these are perfect or a 1 to 1 of the OG. But these are an improvement over the 2016 and I bought the 2016. I sold it, and its not in my collection anymore and this is a personal top 5 fav Jordan for me since before I ever even knew about molds lol. Like I said, they are not perfect at all but I wanted improvement of the toe and for them to slim down the collar and they did that. Don't worry I'll cop the 2030 version 1:1 version as well lol

Jordan Brand obviously reads online comments and chatter, and makes improvements over time. I expect the grapes and for sure the fire reds in the fall of 2025 to be even more improved.

We should know what to expect at this point. We had the same convo with the reimagined 3s, black cement 3s, the reimaigined 4s, and the military blues and and a slew of other releases over the years. expect to not get perfect reproductions of the OGs and decide if you can live with the changes knowing theyll be closer than the previous retro.

Having both obviously is ideal but I’m taking shape every time. I still have my 2016 bm5 ironed the toebox and all that but these are easily better already from what I’m seeing

The Hot Lava ATC II release proved that Nike can do it when they want to. I think it's because they know that OG colorways will sell regardless of shape/cut so they don't try as hard to improve them like other models.

Neither. Passed on 2016s and passing on these.

These were the shoes that got me into the game followed by the Concords. I’m gonna hold out for a “more true to OG” metallic aka slight changes and iterations by Nike over many many years
