Friend has a 10.5 he doesn't want, promised he'd let me get the pair (DS) for retail. I've known this guy a while so i'm hoping he comes through for me.

This makes me not feel bad about missing out and is making me hesitate on going after a pair. Couldn't justify owning both the 2008 CDP and 2014 pair.
Besides, it felt like a compulsive buy.

I wouldn't feel bad. im probably gonna sell my pair and keep an eye out for a CDP pair for the low. that notebook paper leather on the heel is amazingly sad.

On that note, I'll skip these then. I have to do a repaint job my pair of white and midnight navy VI's and to pay $200+ for something that isn't close in terms of quality (which I already knew, but quality has to be somewhat ok), I'd just feel stupid. If the CDP pair is better, that says a lot. I would at least want them similar in quality. From your review alone, I'd feel like I was cheated if I spent my money. I want the sport blues more anyway. I felt the same way about the olympic VI's. I didn't cop but I scooped a pair for a co worker at the time who couldn't take them, but before I gave them to him, I took them home, and tried them on and couldn't understand how he was willing to pay retail for that shoe. Needless to say I was disappointed in the quality of that shoe. I was checking mine again last night for the spacing issue and I felt the same way. Almost regret buying these. They just feel inferior especially with the shallow ankle bump. Will probably just hoop in these

Finally picked mine up at my local UPS. Did my victory lap on my way out. Got slapped with a brokerage fee like it'd ran outta style.
