AJ XXX (30)

My guess is an improved flight plate/flight speed midosle, slight redesign on it, new air cushioning system. Improvement on the flyweave pry implementing a new material within it similar to how the Kobe XI introduced the TPU strands.

Y'all see this SH..

By Nike designer Tinker Hatfield's own admission, the Air Jordan XXX was a rush job. But, that won't be the case for the next shoe in the Air Jordan line — in fact, Hatfield says he's already done with the shoe.

"Basically, the 31's already designed," Hatfield explains in the above video. "The 32 has already been started. Having completed [the Air Jordan XXX] in many ways is really one of the first steps for those next shoes."

Hatfield suggests that the next two sneakers in the line will look similar to the Air Jordan XXX.

"In many ways, [the Air Jordan XXX] is inspiring the 31. And the 31 is then inspiring the 32. We're already into wear-testing on a lot of those things."

To be fair any design is inspired by the previous design. It's very rare they start from scratch.

C'mon this thread is gettin lazy.... whats up with more pics based on the thread's theme..... Jordan XXX. More colorways, release dates, somethin. Otherwise, I'm callin this thread dead.

How do you see any resemblence from Aj 2 to 3? 15 to 16? 17 to 18? 19 to 20?
From 2009 to 2012 each shoe looked totally different and the 28 was absolutely unexpected in design.

Significant evolution were mostly seen from 3 - 8, 9 - 14, 20 - 23, 28 - 30.

we'll probably get like 3 colorways tops of the XXX...I wouldn't be surprised if the XXX1 debuts in September/October

In all fairness the 16-20 all had a weird laceholder so they we similar in those respects.  I think this is what Tinker means.  He is going to use the same type of technology but change the design and make it better/look right.

2-3  different designers

15-16 different designers

17-18 different designers

Jordan 18-19 have the same designer, both had lace covers

Jordan 19-20 different designers

A design will not evolve with changing designers. Each designer has their own vision.

Tinker designed the 16's. Read "Driven From Within".

why? they perform just fine. despite what JB wants you to believe, the shoe doesn't have to be a one piece cheap synthetic fiber upper with a fancy name and an icy sole to perform well on court.
performance shoe of the past and today are totally on a different level.

i loved playing in the 12,13, and 14 back in the day and they were great performance shoes, but by today's standard the OG 12's upper was heavy and it got softer with wear which loses support over time. The 13's heel and forefoot zoom felt great back then, but again the leather upper stretches and the shoe end up losing most of the support at the forefoot. The 14...same thing, the teeth that was designed to lock your forefoot in for extra support did absolutely nothing. all the support came from just tying up the shoes really tight after the leather broke in/down.

the 27(2012) flywire fused upper once you break them in they are soft enough to be comfortable, but they don't loose the strength in support. the 28, the lock down, the flight plate, minus the popping zooms all functions properly even after numerous wears. the 29 with the knit upper and web lacing locks down your foot so much that even when the upper is soft you never lose any support. these are things that the basketball shoes of the past just doesn't do.

some synthetic material are not necessarily cheap compare to leather. the weave used on the xx9/30 takes a long time to produce. if you check each shoes's production period it's some of the longest production period for basketball shoes. cheap material are the synthetic leather like the crap they use on the Maroon 6 and yet people love them and thinks they have great quality.

the plastic eyelet was carried over from 2-3

15-16 continued the off-court appeal in the shoes.

17-18 the caged air unit thing continued on the side of the shoe and lace cover. don't forget the square toe box too.

19-20 Tinker continued with the lace cover from Tate Kuerbis' 19, the patent leather, and possibly of the idea of the strap?

each year they always take what seems to be the best idea from the previous shoe and evolve it to incorporate into the new shoes.

I wish JB would have incorporated visible air (zoom or max) after the 6.  KD and Lebron have them, so it's not as though it's a legacy design only.  Maybe Jordan prefers not to have it....?  Looks like the 16 made an attempt to bring it back, but then gone again thereafter.....

The 17 visible air under the plastic and they made a Jordan 2 with all around air max a few years ago
the Jordan 2s with those air max were tragic.

besides, Jordan himself prefer a sleeker look in the sneakers. Air/zoom Max just doesn't do it.

Tinker is washed. Not sure how some of you still defending him

You guys ripping on dude with that play doh shoe but all it takes is for nike to clean that up and it would look ok. Put tinkers name on it and a bunch of you would drool all over it
