2010 mesh version was my first pair of J's ever so it was nice to pick these up and see that the toebox leather is levels better than all previous retros. gonna wait for a better discount to double up for sure.

I'm worried these might not hit disco so might have to pull on a pair soon. Feel like the last few pairs I kept waiting for code acceptance didn't really end up going on disco at all like the Cool Gray VIIIs I was hoping for.

I store most of my older pairs at my parents, which I’m going to for the holidays. I’m gonna bust out the 2005/2010/2017 comparison photos after. My pair didn’t seem charcoal persay, but I felt it wasn’t as dark as the 05s also.

It would be nice to see some pics. I've got a vnds 2010 pair and trying to figure out if I want these

eBates cash back on NDC went back up to 10% ... decided to just pull now. Been regretting passing on these since 2005.

2005s left on the sole shot, 2017s on the right of the sole shot. 2017s are actually brighter/more vibrant on the sole.

2005s on the top, 2017s on the bottom.

2005s on the left, 2017s on the right. You can see the height difference the best from the above photo.

The black colors on the shoes are pretty equal on both on my pairs, craftsmanship and quality are about equal also (2005 has better toe box leather, by a slim margin). I prefer the updated 2017 sole color making them a tad more neon. Just like all the jumpmans on the tongue from earlier editions of 13s to now, the earlier versions are more skinny compared to recent pairs. Aside from that, JB did a good job retro-ing this model. Hope this comparison helps or informs anyone who wished to see one.

I remember when I had the 05s. They were the one 13 that released that I couldn’t go a 1/2 size down on. They were cut the truest of size

bigj505 I was a broke kid a few years out of high school so I never had them back then. Was fortunate enough to get them a few years back to add to the AJ13 collection. I don't wear any AJ13s unless I have more than 1 of said pair, so I never put the 05s on even. I Was/Am so excited we got a retro this year so I could finally put a pair on feet. That's one of my favorite parts about collecting kicks, the memories... similar to music and where they bring you back to. Best of holiday wishes to you and yours.
