My uncle just got one. It wasn't expensive at all. Sharp Aquos 65" for $1399. TV looks no better than my 47" Sony HDTV, but he also got an uplscaling Blu-Ray player and upscaled Blu-Rays look great. So take that for what it's worth.
no reason go buy 4K yet there's really no content for it. It's like when blue ray first came out there were maybe a handful of blue ray movies. TV makers need gimmicks to sell TVs
Wait for it.
Not a lot of 4k support out there right now.
OLED come in 1080 and 4K .... Is a different technology in where the TV has individual led (pixels) that light up to give you the color. In addition they have like 3 sheets of colors (RGB) that give you all the colors in the gamet and have infinite motion rate.$741 for this a good deal? How does this compare to other 65" TVs? What is the standard going rate for a good 65" TV these days? Not very knowledgeable on this stuff.
Amazon product ASIN B00QTDTVOS
What's this OLED stuff all about? Is that much better than 4K?
look at the KS7000 Samsung or 900C ... Be warned you'll lose a few options that I believe are crucial for this price point tv and future ... Main one HDR ... They both are compatible with HDR but can't produce HDR. In other words they can read it has HDR but that's about it. On the 900C Be careful because it's a super thing tv and some of the tv have light bleed, meaning that in dark rooms and or scene you can weeknight coming from the bottom and corners. Doesn't mean they all have it but it's a well known problem. Both are around 1799 on sale. If you want one for cheaper look at the 810 Sony .... You will however lose the further features like Triluminus which is a big deal for me because you lose the saturation and vibrancy ...^The deal for $741 ended up being a scam. They wanted me to email them first before I bought it and then pay with Amazon gift cards. Thankfully I'm an NTer and smelled that scheme quick.
Ok so I just took a look at both the 850D Sony and KS800 Samsung you recommended. They seem to be running for $2k which is within my price range but I'm not looking to spend more than $2k. Are there any options closer to $1.5k you'd recommend? Also, in your experience where is the best place to buy a TV? Is it a good idea to get any insurance or whatever the big box retailers will offer? I was thinking of just ordering through Amazon Prime.
How much is this tv going for?My Dlp 1080p tv finally went down, so I went ahead and bought a 4K with the dolby vision processor and 240 refresh rate. The picture is amazing, especially when streaming 4k content.
For those considering a 4k tv, make sure that you buy one that has both HDR formats: dolby vision and HRD10. HDR makes a huge difference in the picture quality. The HDR format war is full swing snd it looks like HDR10 will win out, but dolby vision has the better pictue and cannot be added to a tv that wasn't equipped with it. HDR10 capability is rumored to be able to be download through firmware updates.
Prices are pretty good right now. LG and Vizio are the only major manufacturers equipped with the dolby vision hardware. You should be able an an LG Super UHD tv with web operating system 3.0 dolby vision and HDR10 right now for between $1500 and $1800.How much is this tv going for?
I'm going to be searching for a new tv when I move...So I'm looking into models that released last year.
Not sure my wife will approve a purchase of a super expensive tv though lol
That's an amazing set man.Anybody got an oled? Was it worth it
Jus spent almost 2 stacks on an XBR930d which is amazing but I'm thinking maybe I shoulda thrown an extra grand up and jus copped the oled. I'll jus be tight when their half the price next year tho
