Reliability: Seriously if your buying cheap computers like Emachines or some costco cheapo and expect them to function as good as a 1300$ computer your a idiot

Apple and Google are 2 companies I would NEVER even think of selling shares of, if anything I'd buy more. I've learn even if a company earnings mightperform poorly never abandon them if they've proven to be a reliable company and you have faith in their product.

wow i see a lot of apple haters in here
honestly though, most of you must have never owned a mac. the extra money is worth it. trust me.
its like buying a volkswagen or a bimmer. the VW is still nice, but once you get the bimmer, its like you find out what you have been missing.

these analogies are so outlandish.. VW to BMW? really?.. it's like all you dudes think about is the status symbol..
trust me my dude, as a person who works with computers for a living.. PCs will always be better than Macs (and yes i have used Macs before so no bias here).

You can debate if they have a better product till the end of days, but those numbers speak for themselves. Look at those graphs, people aren't buyingexpensive products just because of a clever commercial and a pretty screen.

Man I work in an IT department that have a combination and different years of Macs and PC's top of the line on both. Honestly PC's can do way more thanMacs can as far as programs, but like the poster says Imovie > Vegas becasue of the ease of use. People alwalys come in and are like "I only can workwith Mac's" and I'm like ok whatever, then after about twenty min of failing we take it over to vegas, I take twenty more min explainingVegas(where it took me two secs to explain Imovie) then we get a win and all are happy. Moral of the story is, Macs are so easy to use, but really reaslly easyto mess up, yet PC's are a little bit harder to use but typically work and if they don't work are easier to fix.

The most cheapest Mac specs isn't even as powerful as a $800 desktop. I can even build a custom pc nowadays for less than $800 and it'll be probablytriple power than the mac.

Better and faster?
Like I said earlier I use both systems extensively every day. As a software professional who relies on Windows everyday, I can say that the major reason thatis so prevalent in business is the standard of SQL Server, Sharepoint and Exchange and their native ability to run on Windows Server platforms NOT becauseWindows OS performs better or is cheaper. You all realize that most companies' IT departments (at least in software development industry) skipped Vistaand stayed with XP and Server 2003. This is because a) Vista chokes on a lot of the custom testing and deployment software, b) Vista is a pain in the neck toadminister as a Network Admin and c) Visual Studios is custom and a lot of the plugins and what not are not Vista compatible.
When I get home I genuinely enjoy the slick, over-engineered user interface that Apple has provided with OSX on my unibody MBP. I run the iPhone SDK, AdobeCS4 suite, Final Cut Pro, Photomatix and Aperture and it works like a charm.
The Mac just is a work of engineering and industrial design art that is priced accordingly to it's intendedcustomer, I would compare it to my M3 or M5. A E90/2 M3 is much more expensive than an EVO, but you can appreciate the extra mile that BMW put inengineering the user interfaces (interior quality, noise vibration and engine noise) and sophisticated systems that basically do simple things.
The basic user at a Fortune 500 company is only using their computer to access intranet e-mail, browse the net and run Excel, Word, Powerpoint or Visio.
The basic home user is using their computer to download pirated music and free porn.
You can do either very successfully on a Mac or PC.
Just like you can drive to the mall in a Accord or a Porsche 911 Turbo.

I work in IT at a hospital in San Francisco and our users are slowly transitioning over to Macs. On the PC's we do have here, we are stillrunning XP because Vista is so damn unstable but we're faced with the problem of there not being any new updates for XP. In a perfect world, all our userswould be running OS X. It's a lot less headache for us and the reliability is something that both our users and us as IT appreciate. Some of our users arestill using Powerbooks from six years ago. If OS X servers were cheaper, we'd probably switch to that too.

for me its about the ease of use and the quality of the machine. and i know if something does go wrong, i have really good customer support.
i just personally like the way the OS works better than windows..
and if i may ask, in what way do you think PCs are better than macs? is it the customizable options? do you like the OS better? is it the hardware? what is it?

I own a Macbook as a laptop, my desktop runs Windows Vista and I own a MyTouch cellphone that runs Google's Android platform, so I try anything that I deemreliable. I own an Apple product but I also don't think the Iphone is the greatest phone in the world, own a Windows desktop but I can say without a doubtWindowsMobile is a very underwhelming platform. Dudes gotta stop with all the fanboyism, its so reminiscent of when Christians try to preach their religiononto others.... let people like what they like.

Learn how use a computer? They should all be as easy to use as a mac.
