The case does not make your reception better . Its to fix the death grip problem ( gripping the phone a certain way causes to antenna to fail)
If your not happy with a free case , return your phone !! oh and go and pick up one of these phones ....

this is exactly what you mean, about people settling.
instead of fixing it, they go out and point the flaws in other phones.
does that make you feel better that the iphone is flawed?
what's funny tho is that, jobs/apple knew about it. they told him about it. thats why the bumpers were made.. and he's trying to play it off as if it's not a design flaw.

Instead of leaving everyone phone less they are sending out free bumpers/cases to fix this problem for now.

One flaw got pointed out and now everyone is crying to apple ,when you can see its common in a lot of phones that are already available and no one seems to care or notice for that matter.
Pointing out another phones flaws? nah more like its the same as every other phone so why come at us ( verizon , media, etc)?
I guess you cant hold your phone any way you want

it isn't fixing the issue, the issue is still there. it's putting a bandaid over it, and people will accept it because they got something free. are we always suppose to have a case on just so jobs can save face and not admit it's a design flaw?
apple put themselves up on this pedestal of perfection. look at how steve jobs over exaggerates about his products. people expect the best from apple (well, at least what's considered the best in apple's eyes) why is it odd that they went at them when it's product couldn't deliver?
it's a shame, the iphone 4 is a really great looking phone (the best of the 2 designs they had). shame it breaks easily and you have to hide it under a case for it to get a signal. hopefully they model the ipod touch around those looks minus the problems.
