Asian Culture Discussion Thread

Interesting stuff.

Not sure I wanna go down the rabbit hole but was surprised by how indians from certain regions look, briefly skimming the vids

Fascinating topic of ethnic groups in South Asia.
If you really want to go down the rabbit hole check out the people in northeast provinces.

My mom's side of the family is based in the Northeast, and the city she lives in has the biggest Chinatown/ highest number of Chinese people in the entire country. It was also historically an international trade center with Europeans and unfortunately a key city for the British Empire, so there's a huge variety of people that live there (looks wise) and a lot of unique food mixes that aren't common throughout the rest of the country. My grandfather looked white, my grandmother looked like a tan East Asian, and my mom looks Latina/Southern European.

It's funny cause when I tell people that I'm half Portuguese and half Indian, they always assume my mom is the Portuguese one and my dad is Indian. He's a lot more tan and "ethnic" looking/acting than my mom (and that's actually why my mom's family was cool with her marrying a European)

Shake Shack>in & out

Although I don't think this argument is as awesome anymore because I believe the west coast has shake shack now, smh

Just remember, west coasters... NY had shake shack first. You're welcome.

Is 4Loko still a thing?

Im washed
As a borderline alcoholic, 4 lokos and mojitos are the only drinks I can remember not liking and not finishing.

Now I only really drink dark liquor like Jameson, jack Daniels, Captain Morgan, Glenlivet, macallan.

White claw is a weird phenomenon. Seems everyone drinks it. I'd rather drink some hard ciders or sparks. Sparks had my heart beating fast from all the caffeine.

I absolutely hate In N Out fries. In N Out in general is one of the most overrated things on the planet. Can't believe people spend 30 mins in the drive-through for a slightly-above-average fast food burger

4 Lokos in college...I wanted whoever invented 4Lokos to be whipped publicly after I experienced the worst hangover in my life from drinking two of them.

Agreed, In N Out is decent, but I usually stick to my local spots if I'm craving a burger. Super Duper, Smash Burger, Beep's, Pearl's Deluxe Burgers, Bullshead, and BigMouth Burger are my go to's. Too many good spots over here in the bay to settle for In N Out regularly. I only go there for a quick bite or if it's the only thing around that's open.

I remember people from California would bring some in & out burgers to people I know when they visited NY. Made no sense to want an old, cold burger. Just find a diner that makes a good burger or make it yourself with some thousand island dressing. Also animal style fries are an abomination. American cheese should never be on french fries.

I haven't heard of any of those burger joints except smashburger. Smashburger ain't bad. Probably the second best spot within fifteen minutes of me

Exactly. Those spots aren't even much more expensive than In N Out. Maybe $2-5 more? I'd gladly pay that to avoid the insane wait time.

Super Duper's fries happy hour is :hat too

Yup, the only time I’ve had In N Out the last couple times out here is after the bar or club but that’s only if none of the good taco trucks are close by.
