Asian Culture Discussion Thread

yeah Bruce Lee got the short end of the stick his whole life. Very very sad that he died right when he was about to blow up.

Man I dunno if this is the biggest troll job . but some of the girls looking good. :nerd::nerd:

#TEAMABG??

I recognize some of those girls from Asian sorority.. the grey hair chick is one of my friends. Just checked and that video was recorded in SJ lol

his daughter had a podcast about bruce lee . its worth a listen. teaching how you apply Bruce's life philosophy to your own life.

No one watched espn's Bruce Lee documentary tonight did they? :smh: :smh: :smh:

That's ok. Neither did I
It was disjointed to me. Didn't learn anything I didn't already know but I struggled to remain entertained. It was OK at best.

It is VERY god. I suggest taking notes while listening.

There's this whole YouTube acct dedicated to the concept of half asians

The Halfie Project

I don't really watch but the concept of it is pretty interesting

I might check it out. As a halfie, there’s so much I relate to you guys in America, especially when around non Asians. However when around full Asians (mostly Koreans) and when I travel to Asia (especially Korea), I have a totally different experience than y’all. That’s why growing up I related to Bruce so much being mixed Asian. Even in this doc they bring it up and he was called mid pacific, a guy stuck in between 2 different continents and cultures but not knowing where one truly belongs.

Pure Lounge :nerd:

Used to hit that spot up too much after I graduated from college. I know the owner, he's in my frat. It was nice getting a guarantee table but still had to spend that dough though

Damn.

I didn't even know about that.

I won't lie when I was a young kid I liked the kung fu the legend continues series

Never seen Kung Fu, Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Sixteen Candles or any other films or shows with yellow face or racist representation of Asians.

The Kill Bill films with Carradine are still great tho.

Just asking because he damn sure never claimed his black side.

This movie is considered a classic in some circles, and got the most racist depiction of an Asian person post world war 2.

here’s an article about Angela Mao. Hopefully ill get to try our her place one day!

That's the table I was sitting at when I went. She's very dynamic, she doesn't sit still. Constantly moving, making sure the flow of the restaurant is smooth. Food is great too. She seems younger than she actually is. Very humble despite having a pretty good Kung Fu film career (despite it being relatively short but she has some classics under her belt). I definitely recommend her restaurant.
