big sean featuring kendrick lamar and jay electronica "no i.d" freestyle

not relevant enough to care
No offense or shots fired, but this kind of response is exactly why hiphop/rap/whatever label we call it pretty much sucks these days...

2Chainz is "relevant" ..... Trinidad James, Gucci, French Montana, and whoever else the radio plays is "relevant"  --- but honestly how many of them have the skill and talent of Joell? Joell vs any of those dudes would be child abuse.

In the current state of things, if it aint for the trap or lap dances no one cares anymore.

Alright.

I know it's good for the game that he's pushing people to go out and respond and up their game. Wonderful.

But I still don't care until one of the actual rappers mentioned do something.

C'mon g, you know mainstream rap/hip hop is all about marketing their image. Ortiz doesn't really fit in although he got bars fa daaaayz

I literally started :lol when Jay started rhymin' after...

...N' the song is over.

:lol felt like son came through and spit the ending credits for the track...

When Jay conducts interviews he is as political correct as possible.  With that being said, I'm sure Jay has respect for Drake as a rapper to a certain point, but not on some "Top 10/20" type of list or anything of the sort.  Even if that were the case, like I stated earlier, a lot of folks don't take Drake seriously as a rapper.  Particularly those of us that grew up on Jay, Biggie, Nas, Rakim, KRS-One, Big Daddy Kane, etc.  Drake is a rapper/r&b type of cat, nothing wrong with that but we all know or all should know that we aren't going to get any groundbreaking bars from Drake.  He's just not that kind of guy.  Drake is moreso the new and improved Ja Rule when he was doing his thing.
I see your point.  In regards to dropping something "groundbreaking," I'm not expecting any of that from this generation of rappers, Kendrick included.  Kendrick calling out these dudes was just refreshing, would've been groundbreaking had he came at them on some "come at me bro" type of stuff, but he kept friendly and competitive...

Ortiz was spitting fire on that joint. K.dot got the game going crazy. Drake cole & wale definitely aren't responding back to this unless its in a interview.

rappers are so dumb.

you can't come back on the same beat.

thats what i was thinking, this aint no ordinary twitter trend, usually its takes a album, maybe a song but son took over the world with a verse.

lol joell spazzed...but...who was even talking to him??

I feel like we're about to have 2 factions of mad rappers dropping bars...Cats that were offended that Kendrick went at em...and cats that are salty that Kendrick didn't mention them lol

I actually like Joell's response. Not only did he get at Kendrick, but he touched on some things that probably led Kendrick to spit that verse, as far as today's rappers.
