The Maryland flag has an interesting history involving trying to represent both the North and the South armies.

There is also a claim that some people raise inverted flags that could act as a secret signal of supremacy.

I'm from MD, if you have more info, I would be interested.

yo i STILL don't understand how to use twitter
is black twitter just like a hashtag and i just peep the posts under the hashtag

Black twitter is more like a mass group of people who tweet about black stuff. You have to follow the right people to stay in the loop

On Reality Asserts Itself, Paul Jay talks to the president of the Chicago Principals and Administrators Association, Troy LaRaviere about his new report that found systemic racial discrimination in the way Chicago Public Schools receive special education funding

What did they do to this lil girl face?

Something I wanted to discuss (cuz I'm rewatching insecure) is poc on poc racism and the question "can minorities be racist?"

I've never bought into the Racism = power + prejudice argument. It seems like a nonsense rationalization to allow for or minimize the severity of black people's racism against other groups.

Furthermore it doesn't hold up outside the united states where there are numerous black run countries.

Of course minorities can be racist, but the power aspect is always brought as a defense because white supremacists try to construct this false equalency that racism from one side balances out racism from the other. Which is nonsense

So while racism in any form, from any group, is unacceptable, minorities, especially black community in America as a whole just don't actively seek to do harm against other groups , especially the white community.

Equality is still the prevailing message in the black community, not black supremacy. While white supremacy is the prevailing message when the white community, and it has been that way for quite a while.

Matter a fact, tons of people from other races especially white folk benefit greatly from many of the policies black people fought for and tend to support.

So yes, I don't buy into this whole black people can't be racist steez. Also, coming from a majority black country where tribalism, classism, and colorism still occurs a ton, I know how those things divide people. So I don't buy they angle of purity some of these so called woke dudes like to preach.

But I do keep in mind how such a talking point is currently being used to distort the debate of racism and justice in the world, and especially in America.
