Black Culture Discussion Thread

Watch "Rogan and Russell on black culture" on YouTube

I've never heard MLK painted to that extreme before. For somebody that always got locked up I think it's hard to believe that he just wanted to lay down to get in good with whites. I gotta look that up.

It's clear that they only see black people as a certain type and don't or refuse to see us for the diverse group we are.

I actually watched the whole thing.....

Lemme ask you this....at what parts did you agree on?

What made you think this was an actual interesting video to share with us content wise?

You obviously agreed with or found something in this video interesting enough to share it in this thread.

You say you posted it for content regardless of the messengers.

I'm trying to grasp your logic with this content.

Repped. Just shared this with my family.

Regarding the Joe Rogan video, I understand the enemy well. Maybe others could benefit, but I don't need to hear any more explanations about why they think the way they do. I dont really care. Knowing that they think we're inferior is enough for me.

why is that salty? that seems like a pretty legit questions to gain understanding...so many discussions in this thread get derailed by folk trying to call other folk out for some latent motive rather than address what is actually in the text on the page...it isn't always obvious what point is being made, asking for clarity rather than making an assumption seems like a prudent thing if interested in having a discussion...

i get you but did you listen to/watch the video? it isn't really an explanation of why 'they' think they way 'they' do; it is more a cringe inducing convo between 2 white guys about the historical perception of black culture by some black leaders, assimilation, a portion where they imagine an america without black folk and basically distill black contributions to slang & entertainment, not people who actually were instrumental in building this country, barack obama being the an achievement of that ideal of assimilation and not a product of growing up outside of the lower 48/ his multicultural background, and (the writer's perception of) the mentality of black folks in failing communities...i don't know if i'd call if beneficial knowledge, but i found it interesting
