Black Culture Discussion Thread

So what makes something political to you?

Would you consider acts like Which school you enroll your child or Which neighborhood you decide to live in political or not?

I believe it can be political. Some people are afraid to bare the skin that they are born with and quickly look for a ways out. Whether it be altering their appearance or making sure their spouse and future children are lighter than them. Then there are others who claim that they won't be ruled by any women, but will quickly submit to some other races women before they would a black woman. I don't think that is the case for all interracial marriages/relationships. I am, however, very skeptic when I see women of other races who show some interest. Not because I don't think I have the juice to pull women from various backgrounds( I sure as hell do), but because I know many of them have some weird fetishes that is pushed by the media as well as our own people and I won't be fetishized. In the case of atlsfinest atlsfinest he looking very funny in the light based on his comments in the NBA thread.

Hey, cut the bull and pay attention....WE can do this....

New York (CNN Business)A pair of Black-led banks on opposite coasts are joining forces to become the largest minority-owned depository institution in the United States, according to FDIC data.
City First Bank and Broadway Federal Bank announced their merger on Wednesday. Combined, the lenders said they would have more than $1 billion in assets.
City First President and CEO Brian E. Argrett said the two banks have been working on their deal for a year.

"We were going to do this deal because it made sense and because it would deliver additional resources to our communities," Argrett told CNN Business on Thursday.

Are they still gonna be separate banks but under one leadership or will it be one entity? I was considering Broadway but I always worry about black banks eventually selling off to white folks

They are still in the final stages of the agreement.
