ONCE AGAIN THE "GAY HATE" terms pop up again...As I said before I speak for myself I'm not with HOMOSEXUAL RIGHTS because I'm not one I don't Identify with them....I'm concerned with the issues with MY PEOPLE as a COMMUNITY as a whole....I can't understand some BLACK people if you are not a HOMOSEXUAL what's your purpose for fighting for their rights with all the issues thats still plaguing our community I just don't get it....That's like going to help your neighbors when you need help too...
I know most here won't probably see it, but I didn't know Selma was directed by a black woman. Also, it has a perfect RT rating and getting rave reviews overall. I just may see it to support.
that video sounds interesting and coincidentally relates to a topic I want to bring up.
I wanted to pose this question to African Americans and Black Americans with stronger ties to America than to their country of origin...
Should we support Liberia in the same way that Jews support Israel?
To give my two cents, I feel as though Liberia is an often neglected part of African American legacy. America helped slaves found this returnee society in part because it was believed at the time (and still is among some) that a Black man, woman, and child could not ever fully integrate into American society.
I personally think that yes, African Americans should support Liberia either by creating some sort of foundation or set up business there or just do something to aid the country. A more extreme approach might even be to live there (I say extreme because unlike Israel, even the capital is third world as hell and corruption remains rampant. Quality of life is POOR!!). One could even set up birth right Liberia (a similar idea to birth right Israel).
What do you guys think?
yea nah i wasn't for making them citizens unless that person really wanted to.Invest in Liberia? Yes, auto make Americans Citizens? No.that video sounds interesting and coincidentally relates to a topic I want to bring up.

The Blacks who came back to Liberia oppressed the indigenous people and were a minority so the descendants of American SLaves (they all fled during the war) aren't seen in a greatest light. I believe if Black Americans were to pick a nation to invest in Liberia would be perfect more so to have a relationship as Use Liberia to create Jobs there and export resources/trade in America the same way Chinese in America use their people back home to get resources cheap for the hair and clothing industry. Its a win win since Black Businesses in America will have access to resources such as Rubber, Gold, Iron,Diamonds, potentially Oil, Coco, Coffee etc at the best price and be able to regulate these industries somewhat (the way Asians can regulate the Black Hair industry), and in Liberia you have legit people investing in infrastructure and creating jobs instead of just setting up temporary shop and sucking out resources. Liberia sees the Black American as their brother because of the history and some can say look up to Black Americans (Americo Liberians were the Elite Class in Liberia so indigenous people were sadly taught they had to be closet to them to be deemed "civilized"), and English is the Official Language so its an easy move.

I see exactly what you mean though. Except I feel like the Liberians would get mad if African Americans started taking their resources like the whites did before and not give anything back so we'd have to be careful about that.
I've always dreamt that theoretically should the conditions in America go back to 1950's levels or worse, that would serve as a great place to escape to....but y'all know not a lot of people have the heart to put the work in to make Liberia much less their own hood a better place.
