I understand where you're coming from man no doubt. But my issue is that most popular brands from car brands, apparel to electronics don't even offer retro or original products produced right down to their original specs. People fail to realize that this is a retro. Essentially a replica of the original. If you want the original you have to buy the original. If you want a 69 camaro you have to buy a 69 camaro. Or you can buy a replica mold and build one yourself. That which will never be the original from cheverlet made in 69'. You want original quality? Buy yourself some OGs. That's what you want anyway. JB will never give you it's OG masterpiece. JB doesn't owe that to you. It's good that they even offer new versions of the classic shoe. Sort of like a ode or paying of homage to the original. I for one can appreciate that. It's their product to be sold, not ours. At least it's JBs redention of their own classic and not some fake made by god knows who. What more can you ask for from a retro? You want OG, be the big bad collector you are and buy the originals. Or shut up.

What you failed to realize or chose to ignore, is the fact that there are retro’s that closely mimic the OG’s.

But you missed the point. Yes, JB owes us nothing, but you tried to justify the **** that they’re currently giving us. I mean if your motto is “I don’t mind getting anally raped as long as there is sufficient lube” then hey, do you. Be happy with the 3M, be happy with the current mold, be happy buying inferior **** knowing that they’re capable of releasing better.

I know the 2000 pair has flaws, **** the 1999 White Cement IV has flaws, but I prefer them over the 2012 pair any day. That’s the point, they once RETROED them the way they’re supposed to be retroed. SLIGHTLY different from the OG’s. Not a whole material change. Change the color slightly, maybe make the insole different as well, but changing the materials is absurd.

Oh and as far as the macho talk, you began the response with “I understand where you’re coming from man no doubt”, then ended with “Or shut up” like what? Basically “Yeah I feel you bro” …. “Or ****”.

you're absolutely correct about everyone making an effort to buy this shoe in this thread. But for me, I fall in the 1% who is NOT buying this shoe due to the choice of material used and price hike typical to Black Friday releases. I honestly can't buy something that isn't the way it was made originally. Hope you get your two pairs, for I will be buying nothing on Black Friday.

Just now seeing this. I find that to be very unfair and almost discriminatory against me as a long time NT user bro. You're basically saying since you're the moderator and you don't agree with my comments for whatever reason, I will/should be banned? What's fair and honest and right about that? No where in my comment did I use foul language, single out anyone and disrespect them anyone directly. You think I should edit the "shut up" part then fine. I used that to make a point, I have no problem erasing it. But to threaten to ban me like I'm some child, is just wrong and I've never seen anything like this done since I've known NT. It's not that I disagree with you, in fact I agree with some of it. It's the way you attack every member that has a different opinion then you. There's no need to keep fighting with people every time someone posts something you don't agree with. Every time I see some back and forth nonsense going on in this thread you are a part of it. I'm not trying to treat you like a child, just trying to stop you from disrupting this thread so much. If you don't want to take a break from the thread I will ban you from it. Maybe my last choice of words did come off "macho" but it wasn't used to condemn @pimpjobo. I ended with that to conclude my point. My point was/is we all (folks who are still buying these and have bought JB retros) can "shut up". There's no need to come in here trying to sound like a materials expert quality guru when we been taken it from JB on far more occasions. What makes this release any different? 2012 BC4s anyone? Sure some of got flu game 12s probably etc. Speaking to your point about the 2000s, I wouldn't call an all Durabuck black infrared 6 a slight difference when the the OGs had leather as well not to mention "Deep" infrared vs regular infrared. They always change something on the retro and that is nothing new. That said I absolutely had no problem with the 2000s. Absolutely loved them because for one I never owned OGs to even care that they are different and when I look at them I see the product I intended to buy, black infrared 6s. Same can be said for my 2010 infrareds and same will be said for these 2014s. They're black infrared 6s. PERIOD. That's where I guess I differ from most in here. My expectations are different.

I agree material change is absurd, but it could be ALOT worse. Like "flu game 12" worse. Whereas Durabuck to nubuck is not that drastic of a material change IMO. Basically the same **** to me. It's definitely not enough for me to pass on these.

Look everyone has the right to complain as consumers and should. But I say pick your battles wisely. It could be 10x worse. Like no retros at all maybe? Complain about things that truly matter. Like if I had to complain about this release, my only gripe would be and is the price increase. Now that my friend is worth several complaints but even then the jokes on me if I'm still buying, which I am so...

Lastly, it's funny. When you go in the nike retro threads, you don't see pages upon pages of dudes with the same typical complaints and pointless ultimatums to Nike about quality and materials. There is some complaining here and there but mostly everyone expects these small changes and deals with them by either copping or passing. From what I've seen, most are just happy to see a shoe retro from their childhood that meant something to them for nostalgic reasons. That's how I feel about these 6s. You can't say that about JB threads though. Everyone is a "too cool for school" materials expert it seems. Honestly it's all good though man. Hope I didn't offend.

I know everyone is complaining/hate the color/materials and I respect that, but I am getting the shoes regardless. Just something about VIs...especially INFRARED VIs. No, they aren't the same materials. They probably won't be nearly as comfortable as the originals or even retro 2000, but they are what we are getting. I am ready
