Black Infrared VI's returning in 2014. NO GM TALK!

For most of the people is a big deal, especially when you have a lot of factors involved like money, nostalgia, fashion, social pressure. It is quite a big deal, and JB are not constant with their decisions, if they were sticking to the the OG stuff sooner than later even the small amount of the people that complain would have accepted it. But No, they have to change the materials, prices, colors with every release, its like they can't make up their mind.

Pour ce qui est de la semelle "bleu", je crois qu'ils l'ont changer car beaucoup se plaignaient du jaunissement prématuré des autres semelles transparentes. Le bleu tourne plus lentement au jaune. Je pense qu'ils se sont trompés en faisant cette décision, car le bleu donne un look très mauvais à certaines paires de souliers (carmine 6 par exemple).

If people want to keep silent and obediently scoop up whatever JB slides out the door, thats fine. But its laughable to think that the only reason poor ol JB has such garbage quality these days is because their customers are too demanding, and they don't know who to please

The truth falls somewhere in between these two posts. JB is certainly concerned with the bottom line of $$$, but if you think the people working on colorways, retro schedules, etc. don't care about the consumer, don't care about design, don't care about the history and legacy of this set of products, you're just completely cutting out the human element that has made Nike so successful. Sure, you have the people making decisions on factories and materials to maximize profits, but that's inevitable in a business like this. Doesn't mean that there aren't people who care about the true fans and want to deliver a fun and quality experience. You can rectify those people and their role in the company with the bigger picture of Nike and the greed-driven mission of the company as a whole.

I've kind of stepped away from NT cause people take this way too seriously. I just have to scoff at people talking about long time Jordan collectors and what they're owed at this point. This brand owes its success to the people who bought the shoes and wore them to play basketball in for making them status symbols for a given time period (the 90's). I was/am one of those people, but I don't feel owed anything by this company or subdivision of Nike in 2013. The whole retro explosion is just a byproduct of the horrible and rampant materialism in this country, glorified by idiot celebrities. Jordan Brand relying on the "collectors" would have died a decade ago. This success today isn't tied to much other than Jordan's legacy and the nostalgia factor that has driven celebrities to wearing, promoting and putting Jordans on a pedestal. As much as hypebeasts disgust me, they're the ones JB has to thank, and they're also the ones JB can successfully walk all over.

But I'm realistic: this isn't your favorite band, this isn't your local brewery or your local coffee shop. It's a greedy sporting goods company that has and always will only care about selling you crap. Why take something so generic, and in the grand scheme, meaningless, so seriously? Just shows a true lack of intelligence.

your right man, most companies with customers this vocal would implement whatever changes their customers wanted (Microsoft and the Xbox One changes, just one example). my only guess would be because they know they have us by the balls with these retros and they will sell no matter what, so any changes are to cut costs. although not all changes cut costs, like putting the wrong shade of grey on the white cement 4s or not putting Nike Air on the back.

JB did a fairly decent job on the White/Infrareds, they can score big if they give us Durabuck on these.
