Black NTers: Do you head nod/say what up to random black people JUST because they're black?

I do this everywhere I go. Most of the time I get the nod back but sometimes I dont. Im old school and the nod is a throwback to Jim Crow days when we asAfrican-Americans had to stick together. So I always get the nod back from someone older. Sometimes younger cats look like at me like who are you?

i noticed that i nod upwards to folks my age and nod downwards when i notice that buddy is older than me...thats just me IMO...anybody else do this???
