something was wrong then
because regular channels look like $!!@ on a huge TV
you prolly need glasses imo

The difference between HD and standard is very noticeable on large TVs. Especially with things like Sports in HD. Damn, I love HD

....My fault, thanks btw.

For those wondering, I got my BD's in HK, where they don't have to follow the 'US release date schedule'... as soon as the retailers get theirshipment, they hit the shelves.

and regarding a previous post, yes, the Iron Man in BD is fantastic... pretty much all the new blockbuster releases have a pristine HD transfer... othernotable 'showcase' BDs include the Pirates of the Caribbean set and Casino Royale...

and for the video tech-heads in here, when they remaster old films, do they scan them in 4k, then downscale them to 1080p? just wondering...

Or he could just watch a dvd then watch a bd. And hddvd= Blu ray in terms of quality, don't think cuz it died it was trash.

HD-DVD was only 1080i vs Blu's 1080p. It also held a lot less data on each disk. Relatively speaking, it was trash.
No. HD DVD was 1080p was well but most of the players that people had only output 1080i...

wait till you see shawshank on bluray ... you will be blown away made an already classic movie that much better ... i remember the day i watched it was the day the cowboys traded for roy williams, i was in heaven ...

the dark knight is a dark movie and the blu ray version didnt really excite me like some others ... cop iron man if you really wanna get the entire blu ray action effect

add Wanted to that list to. it drops next tuesday

i think everyone should just cop a ps3 for the blu-ray player. its by far the easiest player to update as far as software updates & it gives you the option to upconvert standard dvd's to 1080p. b

but it would be pretty pointless imo to buy a BD player without an HDTV
Yeah Wanted and Lost are two other big ones i'm excited about.

anybody watching blu ray that only goes to 1080i? is blu ray still worth copping if ur tv is only 1080i?

my current TV is only 1080i and is by all means a 2nd rate Korean piece of trash. I still watch on my PS3 and love it. Can't wait to step it up come summertime. But yes, definitely.

i have a blu ray player and hd-dvd player and they look and sound the same
only difference I am aware of is that blu-ray has more storage and the disc are stratch free. IMO that does not justify the the higher price ( during theformat war ).
And during the format war, hd-dvd actually had more and better features than blu-ray. It is not until recently bluray released features that surpass hd-dvdbut hd-dvd was already dead by then
