Anyone have any experience with backed up BlueRay files?

The size is pretty big 11GB for 1080P...

Can I save the file onto an external HDrive then hook it up to my tv to play? TV: Samsung 650

Just wondering about bluray files not the disk. Thanks
 
I just need Gladiator on BluRay then my life will be complete. But there are no plans or info at all on a release. Damn shame. :smh

you do realize that after dvd succeeded vhs it took mr luca$$ about 8 years to get his head out of his cash cows ++#% and get the studio to release thesethings onto dvd....now that blu ray is the clear (no pun intended) winner of the newer format, we might not see these things until way after the new decade

I do realize that, but I think the difference this time around is that he's got all the films remastered and cleaned up, so it should be ready to go forBD, while for the DVD's I think he still wanted to 'tinker' with the movie, resulting in the 'Special Edition'... anyway, its just wishfulthinking on my part... hopefully the wait won't be that long...
