Bulls offseason Thread

They arent beefing. Rose was just upset that most of the plays involved Jimmy.Thib said that's because Rose hasn't been in the post season in 2 years and didn't know how he would look. He was more so upset about the plays and not towards Jimmy.

I as well hope that its all just rumors, but for some reason there was a point in the Cleveland series where I said to myself I wonder if Jimmy and Drose are getting along now that Rose is kind of taking the spotlight back.

Derrick should just establish alpha status from the jump next season with a semi healthy year of play behind him

He waited until the Cavs series to start playing with authority.. maybe Jimmy didn't take to it so well cuz he wasn't used to it

Looks like Hoiberg is in the driver's seat. Thibs = Orlando?

Thibs need to get him some action and a weekly session with me and ColdCity. He can't help but to chill after that and be the coach we know he can be.

they gonna miss him when he's gone.

@Seymore CAKE tell us about Hoiberg's program. If he is the choice, what do we have to look forward to?

I am curious aswell.

Hoiberg has been great in resurrecting ISU's program. He's also a player coach. Their offense has consistently been in the Top 15 in the country over the last 3 years and they've won the Big 12 tourney twice since he's been there.

However, like us, they haven't been able to get over the hump and make a deep run in the NCAA tourney yet.

I think he would be a good fit and definitely improve our offense, but he just had heart surgery so who knows if he's really going to be ready to make the jump back into the NBA.

We'll see.

minny is close to his doctors... just saying

I don't know if im sold on Fred but I would like to see the Bulls with a new coach.

Thibs has done what he can do and we surely miss Ron Adam's offensive strategy.

And then I read that from what @illmatic34  , Not sold but high hope. lol

Also, Thibs reliance on veterans bc of experience is annoying.
Putting Hinrich over smell, McDermott.
Gotta give these guys some burn

Can't believe that amidst all these coaches we talking about no one even suggested to give Adrian Griffin a shot.
Granted that hes a Thibs disciple, I would like to see how we would personally run the team given the fact that he's an ex-player and knows the grind of the long regular season and all.
Maybe the team needs a different program or just a different philosophy but I just don't see any quality head coaches out there for the taking and putting a team of vets in the hands of a first time NBA coach just seems like a bad fit.

I'm more interested in seeing what kinda money we give Jimmy, what next years cap will look like, what different offers we would get if we put Taj and Jo on the open market and more importantly will any team trade for Thibs rights? Orlando can have him if the give up the rights to Tobias.

Just read about AG. He looks great for the Bulls. Kinda sad to see him being overlooked by other people.

Most we are getting for Thibs is a second round pick. Teams know we are trying to get rid of him, they wont offer us anything of value. Thibs wont leave $9 mill on the table by leaving and i dont blame him one bit

couldnt agree more rose waited till the playoffs ti try and switch roles, this wasnt a good idea at all.... gotta establish that early despite rust.

lol no reality our bench was overrated and not as ready as we thought. Doug was definitely not ready to step out there and as much as I think tony has a bright future he constantly gave jr too much space and got torched and also lost his man on defensive rotations. Brooks went missing , niko first playoffs was up and down he too got lost defensively many times.

I know if I the avg fan could see this, thibs definitely saw this. I know thibs has his faults but a lot of stuff the fans call stubborn is also us overrating personnel we'd like to see play more when in reality there not as ready as some would like to believe.

The bench was supposed to be our strength they were not in the playoffs at all

Thibs needs to just accept an offensive minded assistant coach and find the balance thats honestly the best scenario for all sides.

Hoiberg is D'antoni no thx on that, unless the bulls were able to keep some of thibs coaching staff which I dont see happening they will likely go where he goes.

We had a pretty good offensive minded assistant coach, but the Bulls fired him for speaking out

Then the Warriors hired him and look at the Warriors now? -_-

Honestly, all of them should just burn to hell, Thibs, GarPax, everyone. They're all hurting each other and hurting the team.

That's true although Thibs didn't allow the inexperience players to gain experiences from their mistakes. In that return, it took a energy toll on the starters.

Even in the regular season, he didn't call the bench players # unless a player went down and barely, if a blowout game occur.

He clearly doesn't trust these guys so therefore, I am curious to see what a new coach can provide for these players. It's like we're letting our picks go to waste if we aren't letting them play.

Agreed, except burn to Hell. Maybe burn on the beach as they are "fishing" now. lol

I can't call our bench overrated if we never used them properly or gave them a chance to go thru the ups and downs.

This whole "if you don't play defense, you gets no burn" mentality needs to go. We drafted Doug at #11, clearly we knew he wasn't a defensive specialist. Instead of giving him a chance to go thru the learning curve after he came back from injury, we bury him on the bench.

We go thru 5 min offensive droughts and Thibs doesn't even look down the bench to bring in one of our offensive minded players like Snell, Doug, Brooks, hell even Moore until it's finally too late.

His stubbornness is wearing on us as a whole. We really need to bring an offensive minded coach in if we plan on keeping him.

Not buying the Hoiberg is D'antoni comparison either, that's just lazy typing
