I doubt anything of substance really leaks between now and then. And yes, I believe it will be a final decision.

And oh please, you're from Sac (I think right?), you're already a martyr for being a Lakers fan........ the least you can do is at least be on our side in hoping the Kings stay!!!

*couldn't tell if you were being sarcastic* but

Yeah I'm from Sac but I've always been a Laker fan, no bandwagon. Actually hated the Kings. But I do hope they stay.

^I'm just pulling your leg

I got a good number (way too many IMO

) of Sacramento-raised Lakers fans so I'm used to it

I mean, I'd expect most NBA fans from Sac to want them to stay.

Where else are lame Sacramento-Lakers fans gonna catch the their team??? Staples Center? Oracle?? (I still maintain that I have been to more Lakers game/been to the Staples Center more than any Lakers fans I know

FILA Partners With Kevin Johnson to Re-Release the KJ7

Kevin Johnson's little known FILA signature shoe is on the way back, with full endorsement from the mayor himself.

The KJ7, from early in Kevin Johnson's career before his time with Converse, will see a return in early 2014. FILA partnered up with the former NBA all-star point guard and current mayor of Sacramento, CA for the re-release of his first signature shoe originally from 1989. Because Johnson isn't allowed to accept royalties from the shoe since he is a mayor, FILA will be donating $25,000 each to the Sacramento Public Policy Foundation and Think Big Sacramento, a task force devoted to building a new arena for the Sacramento Kings.

The KJ7 will be available in two colorways with Phoenix Suns and Sacramento Kings versions, each slated to drop around NBA All Star Weekend 2014. What are your thoughts on the return of the KJ7?

well this is certainly interesting....

Which is counter to things I've read over the last couple days, which means nobody actually knows what's going on except the people who were in that room a week ago. Remember, we didn't know the disparity in the bids until Stern said something publicly. There's nothing that makes me think we'd know where they currently stand unless Stern himself says something.

What were the things you've been reading up there in Seattle these last few days about the Sacramento offer??

Since the meeting last week, Sac media has just used this quote over and over again.... so me and others, have just assumed the variance should be a big deal anymore and today's Steinberg quote kinda just cements our thoughts IMO (especially since Steinberg was in those rooms)
Question to Stern: "Does Sacramento need to improve their offer?" Stern: "That is not one of the issues."

Source close to #NBAKings negotiations says there is NOT a matching offer to Seattle bid, and numbers are still "way off".

Source close to #NBAKings negotiations also chuckled because Sen. Steinberg is not part of investment team.

Sen. Steinberg tells me: I don’t want to get too precise here, but it's as strong as the Seattle offer. It's equivalent to the Seattle offer

Steinberg says he knows Sacramento bid for #NBAKings but can't share. Says it is “strong and fully competitive.”

Here we go now!
BREAKING: Maloofs give Sacramento group 5 pm Friday deadline to submit matching “back-up” offer for #NBAKings
— Ryan Lillis (@Ryan_Lillis) April 10, 2013
Source tells Bee's @tonybizjak if the Maloofs get matching offer by Friday, they'll consider it as serious proposal should NBA deny Seattle
— Ryan Lillis (@Ryan_Lillis) April 10, 2013
Source: If matching back-up offer doesn't arrive by Friday or doesn't match Seattle, Maloofs have said talks are off with Sacramento

If the Maloofs are not "satisfied" with the Sacramento offer, doesn't that still mean... it goes to the BoG? It doesn't matter who's satisfied with the Sac offer outside of Stern and the BoG, correct?

That's how I look at it too.

Maloofs just want to look like they still have some control or power in the situation IMO

Also demands be damned, I don't think with how far Sacramento has come... That Vivek and company are going to not come thru with a appropriate offer

Lightweight tell your whales to get their money up....
Apparently if the Maloofs are also demanding that the Sac offer include the $30m deposit Vivek will be covering that personally :lol like I said, I'm sure the Sac group will come up with the appropriate offer.

Honestly, if Sacramento loses on the Kings I'm confidant it won't be because of the offer.

Why are you such a cynic about all this? :lol

Local sports radio is saying the Hansen group is being given the chance to raise their bid after the backup Sacramento is received if they choose.

This **** is so ******ed. :lol Maloofs gonna Maloof :lol

Who is reporting that? They have a signed contract that is BINDING. They can't raise their bid if they or the Maloofs wanted to.

To give them the opportunity to raise their bid would mean their agreement is NOT BINDING.

If both parties involved in the deal agree to a change, then why would it matter? Who would enforce the deal as binding, and not allowed to be altered if everyone involved is in agreement?

Two things

1. A contract is a contract. And in this one theres a $30 million dollar nonrefundable deposit. This isn't some retail store return the merchandise when you want just because business.

2. Stern has already said this will not be a bidding war.

Hopefully the Kings actually show up tonight..... Its always nice to see Ryan Anderson back home, hearing him interview with Napear earlier today was awesome.

I don't like what I am hearing out of NYC.My mind clearly says SEA, but political weight in CA no joke, much bigger than KJ. #goingtowire

This was a bunch of tweets, edited it for readability
Source in Gov Jerry Browns office just told me #NBA has assured him “We exceeded their expectations” he added “we have the lead.” Conversation startd w/me asking about Gov Brown trip to #China and #NBA tourism is a big topic of conversation there. And told in no uncertain terms the #NBAKings and the tax revenue from new development is a valuable piece of the “California sports landscape.” And the Gov Brown is “well aware of and keeping a close watch” on the #NBAKings situation and when I asked if Gov brown was involved…My source said the Gov believes “mayor Johnson has done a good job with the process and when needed the Gov has given his thoughts and opinions to KJ” and added "if we felt there was the slightest chance the #NBAKings were in danger of moving Gov Brown would not hesitate to step in and do the job…but KJ has more than met his burden for the city and the state. I am also told that Gov Brown has spoken directly to the #Maloofs and the #NBA “multiple times” throughout the process dating back 18 months.

1.) What does the that 30 million have to do with anything? We're talking about raising the price not reducing it... You've never heard of anyone restructuring a contract before?

2.) Oh ok I forgot we're supposed to unconditionally trust David Stern's word. Touché.
