***COLLEGE NT'ERS*** Is cheating a common practice???

Normally I don't, but on Friday I had an ECON final that had two 10 pt questions on SHAKESPEARE

(I looked up the professors notes after class, and yeah he did mention a few Shakespeare stories but they were completely irrelevant to the subject matter of that lecture

) Needless to say, I told the professor I had to go to the bathroom, sprinted to library and looked that @#$% up

Whoever said cheating in Law school doesnt occur is wrong. Sad to say, but its VERY prevalent. Had one girl during my 1L year that would use the bathroom for every single exam...admitted after our last round of finals that she stashed her outlines in a stall and would review whatever concepts she didnt feel strong about after reading the fact patterns.

I don't think it is the cheating that is common, more the procrastination of students. As a side hustle I used to write papers for people, at one point I was booming and what I noticed was that the majourity of people hitting me up had papers due in a week or less. People get money and they get lazy not knowing they are losing way more money in the long run.

the times i actually planned on cheating, I never ended up using my cheat sheets or phone and still did well on the exams.

Its more common than you think

Can't say I haven't cracked open a book during a final or had a few extra pages of notes for an exam, it happens

i've seen too many professors catch someone cheating, yell at them from the bottom of the lecture hall (with 350+ students in class), and then rip their test up in front of everyone. idk if they were academically disqualified from school, though. (that's what the professors threatened)

It's pretty common. At least it was common to see in undergrad GE courses and pre-med (was pre-med at one point) courses. I know one too many people who've cheated their way into med school. But admittedly, they do get through med school on their own to become MDs, so... it is what it is and that's how they buck the system.

I've never cheated on a test by copying someone next to me or using materials that weren't allowed to be used during the test. I have studied old tests.

Honestly, if you're cheating in a GE course, it isn't that big of a deal. If you're cheating in a major course, you could be screwing yourself over.
