Could you beat Brian Scalabrine in a game of one on one?

When I see people thinking this way, it lets me know you probably haven't played anyone that IS a high level player, whether it be NBA or DI guys.

No offense.

They're playin on a whole 'nother level.

There's a difference between being slow in the NBA, and being slow at your local rec/high school. Brine wins easy, would probably give you his headband asa consolation prize though

no post up, hmmmmmmm.

not sure if i'd win but it would be a decent game.

i'd cross him up too.
because if the NBA was a one-on-one league, Scalabrine would be the one posting on NT, while you'd be the professional crossing fools up....

yup

Maybe not on THIS forum, but there's ballers out there who aren't in the league that could surely take some of the NBA bench-warmers. As someone elsesaid, there's a lot of 'specialist' in the league today. In my opinion, you don't have to be as fundamentally sound to be in the league as youonce did...

just cause you're in the nba doesnt mean you're unstoppable. yeah you can play but so many other millions didnt make a roster... look at hook mitchell,he was the best of gp, kidd, shaw, a.davis. so my point is, there are plenty of people that can beat an nba player

I could beat him 1 on 1 to 1 my ball first

might take me a few games but I'd get it done

I saw him warmup once when i was at nets game back in 01-02 season. Dude was literally hitting 80% of all his jumpers. He was coming back from an injury at thetime. As bad as he may seem, he'll def destroy people out there. Plus, he's pretty tall. He's what, 6'8 6'9? I mean a shooter who'sthat tall will find a bench spot in the NBA usually.

Hell yea I would beat Michael Rappaport.

But only if we play make it take it and I get ball first.

Put it this way...he's a foot taller than me...my head would be a launching pad for a Patrick Chewing-esque dunk.

The average NT'er is probably 6'0" tall....he'd be a complete #*+**@@ not to post-up.

Bro, I don't care how he did it.... Post up moves only, jump shots from 15+ feet out only, whatever... He'd beat damn near everybody on here...

If you didn't at least play high-major D1 ball, or you aren't playing somewhere overseas, you have no chance. Period...

Just because a player does not dribble in an actual game does not meanhe does not have a decent handle in a pickup game.

Just because a player does not shoot jumpers in a game does not mean he does not know how to shoot in a pickup game(well, maybe Shaq and a couple otherscan't).

The point is, when teams work out ANY player before signing them or drafting them, they will put them through basic drills that display skills that half ofthem will never use in-game. Almost every NBA player was "the man" at some point in their basketball careers, which means they had to be able toshoot/rebound/handle at an extremely high level. I wouldn't be surprised if Scalabrine crossed any of you "I can take on an NBA scrub" guys upwith the quickness

That's what I'm sayin', it's not like I said are you better than him, I said could you beat him in a specific situation in which hecouldn't use his size directly against you by backing you down. Have you ever seen dude create his own shot in the NBA? Can you find me one clip of himtaking a non-wide open jumper in the league? He's a spot shooter and is in the league as a garbage time guy because he can knock down the open J. Does thatmean he'd beat everyone not in the NBA in one on one? Would he beat a really quick NBDL point guard with a sick stroke one on one?

I played with George Hill, the dude from IUPUI on the Spurs, in men's leagues in Indianapolis. Jason Gardner and Andre Patterson and Robert Vaden and ArmonBassett too. A lot of people are coming in here with the old "Steve Kerr would give you 50" line, not taking into consideration this specific player.I personally think a really athletic 6'3+ guy from your local men's league would have a chance to beat him in a game of ONE ON ONE if he hit a goodamount of jumpers. This has nothing to do with who belongs in the NBA, it's about ability to play one specific game.

he would prolly rub his firecrotch in every ntrs eyes ... youd have to check the ball and hit 11 jumpers, not likely
