"Days of Future Past" - New X-Men Movie Release Date (First Class Sequel)

They had lawyers but Marvel was also broke so they had to sell the rights to keep the company alive. I mean that is just how the movie industry works I guess, Marvels back was against the wall and they didn't have much choice. Back then, all comic book films were simply terrible, only successful ones were Batman and that just worked for Tim Burtons version which were dark and more realistic with very little cheesiness. The next 2 Bat films failed after that. Blade worked because it was more of a vampire film than a hero film and XMen was a stab in the dark and it happened to worked and it opened up the comic book world. It is somewhat of a domino effect really, if Marvel didn't sell their rights then Blade & XMen may not have been a big success and we may not be where we are at today.

To be honest, based on some reviews, any films not made by Marvel seems to get hate just because they resent the fact that it isn't going back, even if the film is good. Yet they praise everything Marvel has done when some were just mediocre or good at best. Like Capt. America and Thor, both very good films when I saw it in the theaters but after the fifth time watching on EPIX, I just fall asleep. Avengers, BB, TDK and TDKR doesn't have the same effect on me.

And Denzel is too old to play Bishop. :lol Lets wait how they portray Bishop before we complain, so far I like the look minus the Twilight vampire eyes.

Iron Man 1 was an AMAZING film imo.
Incredible Hulk was also great imo. Dont get the hate.
Cpt America was great
Iron Man 3 was good
Avengers was good
Thor SUCKED and I dont understand the praise.

Also Fantastic 4 doesnt usually get any hate and the spiderman films were praised so IDK what you mean. Just these X-Men films that are atrocious.

Also why were they practically bankrupt? Were the comics not selling or? Sorry for these I didnt pay attention to this. I was young and you wouldnt believe how late I got high speed internet.

Those lawyers still suck. I mean they couldnt sell the rights until 2025 or something? INDEFINITELY? REALLY? What kind of legal advice was that?

What? :lol

F4 is one of th emost hated franchise.

SM3 gets murdered and emo Peter practically ruined Tobeys career.

IM3 was liked by the critics but it along with IM2 has been hated on not just here on NT but many in the comic book community.

I liked X1 & X2 but it is still hated by many (understandably because it is old). X3 and Origins were terrible!!!!!

Daredevil, Punisher, Hulk (Bana), Elektra, etc.... were all just terrible/very boring films.

As for the film rights, you are looking at it in hindsight. Back then, Marvel just didn't have the money to make films. If you want to read up on it and know some legal and technical jargon, here's a link:
http://www.slate.com/articles/busin..._the_business_story_behind_the_avengers_.html

There are countless articles on the web telling the story of Marvel coming from Bankruptcy to being a major blockbuster monster, just google it up.

As for getting the rights back after "25 years," again, that's hindsight. Marvel wasn't in a great position back then and they likely didn't have the upper hand to demand sh*t, those in control likely just wanted to get paid and get out of bankruptcy.

Spiderman 3 is one movie. The franchise is often praised.
IM is Marvel not Fox so it isnt part of that discussion but still. That is one movie. I haven't been paying attention to the iron man 3 response
I've said a million times the X-Movies are atrocious.
No one was denying DD, Punisher or Elektra is bad either. Hulk sucked. Incredible Hulk was a great movie but no one shares that opinion with me. Again, those were marvel

Days of future past should be a chronal anomaly. Think terminator 4. It is the events that make john connor take his friends to the past (prequel) but it is set in the distant future (sequel).

Only it is more confusing because this should create two alternate universes.

People don't like the Incredible Hulk? Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa?! That is NEWS to me.

Can we please start a petition for fox to lose its rights for X-Men, as long as Fox have rights we will never ever see a good X-Men film

gambit needed to be in this movie :{

Nah, he was lame in the wolverine movie.

Why have they powered down Rogue in these movies? I know she sort of took on the role of Jubilee from the cartoons but it still sucks. It's like they make these movies with the intent to piss people off.

Everyone just needs to get over the rights issue. Its not going to happen. The comic book genre is overdone imo to begin with. There have only been a handful of good ones when looking at the big picture.

That's the thing though, FOX doesn't care about that. They're making billions off a franchise they bought for cheap. Any kind of profit in that range is a plus. There's competitiveness but I'm sure they're not considering it a race with Marvel/Disney. It's different between Marvel vs. DC thing. FOX has marvel characters along with w/e other licenses they get.

That's why they'll not give the license back. They're looking to establish a real franchise with the X-verse with X-Force and the F4 reboot. All they'd need is an end credit scene with Reed Richards meeting Prof. X or something. That right there sets up things for the next 10 years where you can have a Juggernaut vs. Thing situation along with a whole other grip of potential ideas that will make money even if they aren't the best they can be.

I have absolutely no idea what the hell you are talking about. :lol

I have no clue what you are defending or what?

I know IM is Marvel but you mentioned IM and Avengers and Captain America so I responded to it, all films made by Marvel. So why is it all of a sudden not part of the discussion?

And no, IM is not just one movie, IM2 & IM3 is widely hated here. So yeah, that is 2/3s of the franchise film that has disappointed but Marvel won't see it that way because it still made money, like Transformers 3 (which still made a billion+ on the box office).

Again. Disney bought ALL of Marvel for 4 billion and made more than their money back just with Phase 1 box office sales. To buy a franchise that grosses 170,000,000 a year would cost them billions and take longer to get their cash back. It isn't even a sensible purchase.

Would you God damn guys please stop bashing Daredevil? For the love of God. That movie was solid, quit treating it like Fantastic Four 3. :lol

It almost ruined Ben Afflecks career. Even Ben admitted they missed a lot in the film, he knew that it sucks. Really can't argue when the main actor hates it himself, same way Clooney hated his batnipples.

^ :lol You really think Disney is going to be willing to buy the X-Men franchise back from FOX for the right price? (mind you I know the price is gonna be something crazy huge to justify selling it).

Disney would rather wait until FOX gives up and lets the rights revert back to them without paying.

That's how the smart business works. Disney don't need to be impatient, they already have a few billion dollar movie franchises.

Also bull **** :lol I saw Rudy, didn't care for it, definitely didn't shed tears and don't mind that the current Wolverine is tall. Yall dudes need to get over it. Him being the center of most of these movies is one complaint but that'll eventually change.
