DC Studios THREAD - GunnVerse Begins - Chapter ONE: Gods & Monsters

Matthew Vaughn has dropped out of 3 superhero films during pre-production due to "creative difference" and tried to make a 300 million dollar Thor film, he's not the type of guy to hop on last minute to direct a shared universe film

If you read in to it like that it just sounds like he's putting way too much pressure on himself. WAY TOO MUCH.

Only way the tide changes if they get a truly great director. Truly great.

You're already setting the bar too high.
No I'm not. I think Affleck is a great director. He's stepping down and is now searching for a "partner" to direct this. Dude has to be great.

The guy who directed Scooby Doo made a great Marvel movie
Notice the false equivalency and just all around straw man. Not to mention the lies. We talking about Batman, DC and Ben Affleck. You can't even mention the movie or director's name bringing up Marvel for no sensible reason cuz neither are comparable to Batman or Ben (but factually speaking the guy who directed Scooby Doo DID NOT direct a marvel movie. James Gunn only wrote it, Raja Gosnell has no Marvel movies to his name. I know we in the alternative fact era though).

but Batman needs to get Scorsese to change the tide.
Marty wouldn't waste his time.

This is kinda getting to my point though. You busy trying to decipher Ben's word overlooking what's important and just dismissing all concerns.

Outside of Snyder is there a single DC movie that hasn't changed directors? :nerd:

The scene in BVS looked really bad. Hopefully they figure that out. Kind of key to the whole movie. My guy can't look like he's holding his breath and struggling.

Flash losing their director makes me lose all hope for that movie. He was gonna kill it.

So it's been confirmed Common the rapper, is trying to go for Green Lantern. ....... Lol I really do hope Ray J goes for it now.

By setting the bar too high, it makes it easier to give yourself a reason to be disappointed to keep up this doom and gloom. Ben isn't going anywhere. He's still co-writing, executive producing, and starring in it. I have no doubt in my mind Ben will hand pick the best director for his vision and someone who he can gel with. In this situation, fit > feat.

Okay, *wrote Scooby Doo. What has he directed before Guardians? I'm just saying that the right guy with the right mind is all that's necessary. You don't need a "truly great" director to make a great CBM.

I'm not "deciphering" anything. Everything Ben said was straight forward. He's recruiting help to tackle this beast of a movie. The only concern is that Ben doesn't overexert himself and have the movie suffer because of it.

Sounds like you just have the bar set really low...

Common was cast as GL in the George Miller flick that got shut down during pre-production years ago. He played a lame character in Suicide Squad as well.

I'm not too sure what the stance with him is in regards to the Green Lantern Corps flick though.

to answer the "what has James Gunn done before Guardians?" question he did a lot of porn parodies (of porn)

Abdul-Mateen beat out Corey Hawkins and Trevante Rhodes for the Black Manta casting.

Rhodes might be a good choice for John Stewart.
