Its tough, Sterling is a jerk. Berating a player DURING a game (even if it was deserved) and his housing discrimination cases...I would hate to work for him but I really dont think that factors into where a player wants to play, as long as their getting paid and have pieces around. So it looks good for them, honestly they have a shot to steal some of the spotlight from the lake show. I really dont like aminu and bledsoe tho, great atheletes but they have terrible bball instincts.

Blake will be gone, no way in hell he stays on the Clippers. They don't keep their players.
Name one good player the Clippers have let walk. Don't worry, I'll wait.

Seeing Blake in Phoenix sounds like a possibility...
Restricted Free Agency guys, Blake has no choice in the matter. This is not a new rule.

Name one good player the Clippers have kept? LOL

Kaman? lol.......

Blake will be gone in due time and everyone knows it. Same with Gordon.

I was trying to be optimistic, but yes this is the most likely scenario...

But you said the Clippers don't keep anybody. They've never had anybody worth keeping, which is a completely different argument about Sterling's competency.

It's hard to know for certain what the CBA rules will be but I think it's safe to say that neither of them will have any say in the matter until they're 30 and possibly older.

at people saying the Clippers have had this kind of talent before.

When have we ever had a superstar (Blake) paired with another Top 25 player (EG) while they're still 22/23 years old?

The last time we had a comparable amount of talent we were one game away from the Western Finals. The following season we lost Shaun Livingston to that injury and ended up missing the playoffs by 2 games.

The season after that Brand tore his Achilles before the season started.

We're just gonna blame that on Sterling, right? I know he's the worst owner in the league but it's not like didn't pay EB and then paid Davis in order to keep EB again. Like PMAC said, name a great player that DTS has ever let walk away without offering a contract?

To answer the question, the future is bright but I don't think we are contenders until we get a true PG and or lights out shooter at SF to help take pressure of EG and Blake. Mo Williams is trash and I'm hoping Bledsoe can be that guy or maybe we can use Minny's pick to fill one of those holes.

 but other than that, yeah.
If they're in a position to, why wouldn't they draft Rivers -- assuming he lives up to the hype he's getting at Duke?  Rivers is a PG and I wouldn't say the Clippers are exactly set at the position.  Mo Williams is a solid player, but he's got his weaknesses and is more of a combo guard anyway.  Eric Bledsoe is really athletic and has shown flashes of being really good, but I'm not sold on him being a starting quality NBA PG yet.  Given that, assuming no other significant roster changes before the 2012 draft gets here, I think it would be plenty logical for them to draft Rivers.

I'm a Clipper fan, so I obviously think the future is bright.  Sure, the team has been mismanaged in the past, but things have changed a bit.  They've been willing to pay their best players lately.  The (over) paid Baron.  They were willing to pay Brand and he was close to re-signing with the Clippers, but then Mike Dunleavy pissed off Brand's agent, which caused him to leave for Philly.  That wasn't Sterling's fault.  The team has never had a player in Griffin's class before.  I think they'll do whatever they have to in order to keep him.  Sterling's all about making money and I'm sure he knows Griffin is a cash cow.  Giving Griffin a max deal will be well worth having Staples filled every night the Clippers play.  Plus, Griffin seems to really like living in LA.

The future looks good for the Clipps
They still  need to fill that hole at SF. Im hoping they can somehow get Battier and have Aminu learn under him.

I like Mo but i dont think his game fits this team the more he shoots the less touches for Blake and Eric G.

Blake Griffin

Eric Gordon

DeAndre Jordan

Al-Farouq Aminu

Eric Bledsoe

AND they have the Timberwolves 2012 1st round draft pick (probably top 7). They could pick up a good player like Austin Rivers or Barnes.

A core of Griffin, Gordon, and Rivers?

history says the clippers will find a way to screw things up. there's a reason why bad teams stay bad for the most part. even when luck falls their way and they find a way to stumble upon success they usually don't maximize it and they have a short window to what they can do.

Sarver was definitely willing to pay the last elite Power Forward he had right?

I can never see that happening.

if it happens  it will be for a 1-2 season stretch at most.   if the clippers utilize whatever little window they have to make some noice and it happens to be at the same time the lakers are on the downward spiral,  i could see it being like 92 and 93  and the first 2 post shaq years where the clippers win about 2-3 more games then the lakers and a good chunk of their fanbase treats it like some huge accomplishment.

I think Amare had it in his mind that he was going to bolt. I also think the Suns did the right thing, I don't think Amare is worth the dough he got. Especially since he's had numerous surgeries on his knees including microfracture surgery. Having said that, he seems to be playing well in NY.

Gordon & Griffin are gonna be a top duo soon.

We already know Blake is gonna be a top three power forward soon. but Eric Gordon is gonna be a household name soon. Jus' watch.

I don't buy into this, a max deal is a max deal. NBA players could care less where the check comes from.

Yes, hence why I said if he over pays for somebody. If a player has a max deal offer from other teams, chances of him coming to the clippers isn't the greatest. Now, if the Clippers are offering somebody the max deal (more than any other team in the NBA) then I can see them signing somebody. But I just feel that they have to offer players more money, ala the Oakland Raiders

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHA

Oh sorry had to laugh @ post title. When will hell freeze over? When will the black man get a job? When will Jesus come back? Why when the Clipper win it all of course

The only place I seen a lineup of respectable clippers is a barber shop.

The clippers be seeking the lottery more than uncle Joe at the liquor store.

The clippers is the Lakers NBDL team.

"Playoffs? Pl-Playoffs? Are you kidding me? We're just trying to win a game!"

clippers players will be mad when lockout over b.c they might have to quit their day jobs to return to the team.

Why is clippers in lower case? The dictionary says you only use capital letters when you're talking about a sports team.

Oh I just started reading the post.

Who have they let go? Hmm lets see the last 10 years

Lamar Odom
Corey Maggette
Andre Miller
Elton Brand
Baron Davis
Sam Cassell
Quentin Richardson
Darius Miles

And the funny part about it is, they let all these players go AFTER they signed them to a big contract. Not the rookie contracts. They re-signed these guys and THEN let them go for nothing. Come on now half the people who show up to clippers games are ppl who forget the Lakers dont play on those days

w/ all due respect, that's where I stopped reading. No he isn't a PG, sorry.
ohwell.gif

Austin is closer to being Eric Gordon than a Point Guard. Much closer. Won't be playing PG at Duke, or VERY minimal at the most, & he won't be playing PG in the NBA.

I dont know man, im a Lakers fan first and then Clipper fan.
Clipps are good for few years then suck.
I hope we get rid of Kaman and Mo
