do you guys buy your exact waist size or do you size up/down? Im going to buy new denim soon but do not know what sizing i should get since i gained weight. It is between Nudie Average Joe and Imperial Dukes. I am leaning towards the Imperial Dukes from selfedge and will get them hemmed from the inseam. Problem is that if i buy a size too big i will not be able to return them since they will be hemmed to my size. I have a pair of nudie slim jim's that are a size 30 but fit wayyy too tight now and was considering going with a size 32 this time around. any help?

Self Edge x Flat Head x Real Japan Blues Jeans & Loopwheeled T-Shirt

For the first time we've done a two brand collaboration jean with both Flat Head and Real Japan Blues.

Flat Head and Self Edge have come up with a new slim straight fit and Real Japan Blues has developed a new 14oz unsanforized Zimbabwe cotton denim. The jean was cut & sewn at Flat Head's facilities using Flat Head hardware and 100% cotton thread.

We've had the left pocket stitched with the RJB arcuate and the right pocket stitched with the FH arcuate, both stitched in indigo colored thread for subtlety.

The fabric is a 14oz rope-dyed unsanforized Japanese selvedge denim, it comes loomstate, untreated after being woven. The denim was developed by Real Japan Blues to be a denim that would fade like Flat Head's denim but would feel more comfortable when worn slim or in warmer weathers. The Zimbabwe cotton yield's a softer feeling fabric over time even thought it starts out very rigid, not unlike Flat Head's current denim line-up.

We've also done a limited number of black loopwheeled tees with triple stitched collars, contrast stitching, and a front and back print. The tees came out great, we love the design which depicts the BOOMTIME message combined with a casino theme.

The SEXFHXRJB15 jeans and t-shirt will be released at all three Self Edge stores at Noon (Local Time) on Saturday, June 18th.

The jeans and tees will also be available online at 9am (PST) the same day in the online store under Flat Head and Real Japan Blues.

Check our online store under RJB or FH for more information on these jeans and t-shirt, a complete specification list, measurements, and hi-res photos:

Also can you do this by just wearing them in a shower and standing there for 20-30 mins?

Also this is how they fit right now:

Do these need to be hemmed? I might rock them with a bigger cuff i'm not entirely sure. I was just messing around with them when i took this picture.

The last pair of jeans I had I just wore but since these are a bit nicer i'm curious.

-.- Those dont look baggy at all.
Kids version of baggy now means anything loose, that's why I don't judge if a jean is going to be baggy by other peoples standards.

I need to know what do yall do to the jeans when they are too long?

I want to say hem them but images of my grandma sowing the bottom of the jeans inside is making me queazy  LOL

I just brought a pair of red monkey on sale 40% off of the sticker price

I know red monkeys are last season ect, but I don't like tight Ack jeans, and theses were perfect wide leg without being leg constricting.

I just can't get into A.P.C. unless I size up and I don't like the looseness of the waste though and heard it stretches so .

question for my denim expert nt'ers, i bought a pair of 34 apcs petit standards online, ima 36 at the waist. they didnt have a size 34 in store so i had to try on a size 33 of the petit standards and a size 34 new cures. well the new cures i couldnt button all the way up so and you would guess how the size 33 were. well i still ordered the size 34s of the petit standards so my question is, how would i go about wearing them? should i only button up as many buttons as i can until they stretch out a little? btw they fit so much different from the UO unbranded brand jeans

i think that's your best option.  just rock em around the house and theyll stretch out in due time, APC is notorious for stretching 2-4 sizes

were you planning on pre-soaking?

throw up some pics while youre at it!

Kien- have you heard much about pure blue jeans? i do not see much feed back on them as other jeans

nah i wasnt gonna pre soak, would that process make it shrink a lil?

I'm going to invest in some APC jeans since Levis cost so damned much now.. My favorite pair of jeans are currently my Levi 514s 30w 32l, there aren't any stores around here that I can try them out so I will be ordering online...
My question is, what size would my 514s 30w, 32l transfer to in terms of APCs?

Could anyone recommend some denim in between the Levi's 511 and 514 cut. Slim fit like the 514 with around a 15.5-16" leg opening (not quite as tapered as the 511). The J. Crew Urban Slim fit is perfect, but I'm looking for jeans and in the Levi's price range give or take a few bucks. Any help is appreciated.

Yeah they will shrink after a pre soak. If you want to minimize the shrinking soak in cold water. If you want lots of shrinking soak in hot water.

Anyone know if good places for a taper? I don't like the way my jeans fit. I want to get like ~.75-1.0" from the bottom.

Roy's Jeans - The Nihon Straight Leg

We've got a new release from the one man show that goes by the name of Roy.

Working with what he describes as one of the best looking pieces of denim he's seen yet, Roy has produced a run of 100 pairs of a new straight leg jean. This jean is made up of a 15oz unsanforized denim made by the Nihon Menpu mill of Japan. It's a straight leg fit, slightly different than the past straight leg fit and with new stitch patterns including a vintage style waist-band that's chainstitched and single-needle stitched.

These jeans will go on sale on Saturday, July 8th, at all Self Edge stores and via the online store at 10am (PST) the same day. Considering the time it takes to produce these and the fact that every jean is produced by one man from start to finish restocks or new models do not come often, but when they do, they're worth the wait.

Also, for those that missed it the first time around we've produced a video showing off some of Roy's skills, it was difficult to show what takes two hours or more compressed into a three minute long video, but we hope you enjoy seeing a glimpse into the world of Roy.
