Denim School is correct. Never knew denim was so interesting and cultured.

Funny thing is I came in here looking to get into more quality denim and left sticking with Levi's.

I do want to try Tellason out though. Any thoughts?

Unbranded Skinny fit sort of like 511's. A little bit "less-skinny" though (<.5"). They feel good though.

I'm wondering how similar the fits of Unbranded are to Naked & Famous since they're made by the same guys.  I'll probably try Unbranded and APC NS's next.  Might have a pair of RRL dark wash on the way.

APC are the only denim that stretch dramatically? By that, I mean size down 3 or 4. So how about other raw denim, usually 1 or 2 sizes, or does it depend on the brand.

it depends on brand, but even then it depends on the specific style of that brand too

I was looking into Unbranded, so far I read to maybe size down one, or stay true to size.
Also, I was looking into Naked and Famous. Not really sure about these, size down two? Are they vanity size and stretch as well? I saw a listing size 32, and says it fits like a 34.

I got my RRL raw, selvedges today.  They fit more straight fit than slim fit though

Do you guys think I should give them a hot soak to make them fit better?  I feel like it'll get rid of a lot of the dye and I won't be able to get the fading and whiskers that I want.

What cut did you get? RRL is sanforized so the hot soak won't do too much. Every cut except their slim straight fits horribly and you should size down at least 2

Need some recommendations...

I'm about 5'6'' or so, I wear a 32 in the waist but I have short !++ legs so my length is 30 (could even be shorter but I've never seen it made for mens sizes).  I have big thighs from lifting but what are some nice slims to get?  I like the style where it sits on top of the shoe as well.  As you can see I have absolutely no idea about denim so any help would be greatly appreciated

Look into Levi 513's. I got a pair from Macy's and I love the fit. Its not as tight as 511's, and not as loose as 514's. Right inbetween. Also look into 520/521's, they have a looser top and tapers at the bottom nicely.

I tried sanding some unbranded denim I don't really use. I couldn't find any good sanding paper so I used wet-sanding-paper.

I just did the back pocket area [wallet]. I did a little and it looks really fake. It looks bad compared to other, natural fades.


I was curious. I rather use the jeans, and let them fade themselves then doing it artificially.
