i understand the team sucks (salmons is stinking it up) but what is the kid doing to help the team win games?

and aaron brooks on the other hand.....

17 and 6
team is 12-9.
and he makes an impact on the game.

we all know rose is more talented, but he's not what you all were making him to be.

psshhh. ric bucher called him the pre season MVP
smh.gif

do you know how dumb you sound...
indifferent.gif
Brooks has people you actually have to guard...NO ONE on the bulls needs to be doubled, hell leave em open and they'd still stink it up
sick.gif
.

The bulls are terrible and rose is trying as best as possible but he cant do everything
trevor ariza?
luis scola?
carl landry?
chuck hayes?

the talent margin between the rockets and the bulls is slimmer than them chicks in calvin klein pants'
the only clear cut edge is coaching.

So I'm not reading through all of this bull @$%# but does the fact that he's coached by a complete and utter imbecile who has no idea how to utilizehim nor how to help him improve in any shape form or fashion wiegh in to this discussion at all?

I was thinking the same thing.

When asked if hes worried about this job - "I go to work every day, doing the best and trying to develop these guys"
i mean you can't hire someone with no experience to develop young players.

Don't even get me started on Del Negro. I hate that dude, Gar needs to get him out of there now. That high pick and roll does absolutelynothing to help anyone on our team especially our best player
mad.gif
. Ican't lie Rose does miss Tyrus' shot blocking ability to get the break started. But the pick and roll with Taj is somewhat helpful as he can hit a midrange jumper. Hopefully he can continue to improve despite the uncertainty of the franchise. Its time to get a coach and a steady core around him, which willhopefully happen this summer

nope nor the fact that he was hurt to start the season nor the fact that his numbers are geting better we just gone keep going off his avg

i'm a rose fan and i think people hyped his expectations ... but i'm happy.

he's an excellent point guard who will only get better. i look at what he has to work with:

- bad coach
- bad team

and am okay with what he puts up. plus it's bigger then stats; if you actually watch him play defenses collide to contain him from getting to the basket.

NOW, when he kicks its it out to the open man, the ball is usually passed or the shot is bricked. I can live with that knowing it's not his fault the teamcan't shoot.

Rose does need to work on his defense though. It's UGLY.

-Passing is excellent
-Finishing is excellent
-Shot is okay. it's gotten a lot better and should only improve

What more do you want from him? You have a rookie coach leading a team that plays zero defense and just flat out suck. Derrick Rose is NOT a guy (or at leastnow yet :-D ) who will carry a team on his back to the NBA finals. The Bulls need a big superstar to give them that push... and possibly teach him a thing ortwo about becoming one.

Everyone is quick to blame del negro....i think people underestimate how much of an impact BG had on D rose. Rose doesnt like going to the rim and gordonspread the floor for him.

Aaron Brooks is doing more w/ less talent right now. Everyone is so quick to dismiss the comparisons because most people have been following D rose since hewas in high school and are impressed w/ his athletic ability.

Rose has not improved his shooting at all. I dont have the stats in front of me, but last I looked he hadnt made 10 3 pointers this season. WTH did he do allsummer?

That's the same thing I was saying. The bad coaching and teammates thing is old. If that's the case we can make the same argument for anyother player destined to be great in the league. Look at the talent on Jennings team compared to Rose. He doesn't necessarily have to have great players onhis team to succeed. The players on the Bulls are decent enough in every position for him to play well. He just makes bad decisions.

this.
i never understood why the bulls gave money to luol deng (overrated in my opinion) instead of ben gordon.

derrick rose is gonna be fine, he can basically get to the paint when ever he wants. he just needs some shooters to spread the floor and open it up for him.

Rose fans in here making wild excuses. U guys act as if no other player has had to suffer with "bad team and bad coach" syndrome. I mean come onofcourse he is overated people were calling him the next isiah thomas how are u suppose to live up to that when u haven't stepped foot on a NBA court. Butwith his size and his talent he SHOULD be playing way better right now. U can't tell me he shouldn't be a 19 and 8 guy he should get that off histalent alone

ok, so the current excuse for him now is that the team and coach are bad... so i guess that makes him a system PG rather than one that has pure talent.... soin other words, he IS overrated.....

Reading these replies shows me who does and doesnt watch games, with that being said I'll moisey on out of this thread because it doesnt warrant myinvolvement. Enjoy yourselves though chaps.

The loss of Ben Gordon hurt his game bad, he's not overrated! Gosh, hes only 20? 2nd year pro. Like just because he's not avg 20 ppg and 10 %#%doesn't mean anything jeez

Agree, it kills me me how you guys bash a kid who's still recovering from a injury that can nag you for a long time...Smh. When Luol Deng is your teamsbest scorer, you know your in for a long year or get more help for your franchise player (Rose)

Well most of ya'll know how I feel about D.Rose already
laugh.gif
but anyway

I just don't see him being an all-time great or a vocal leader EVER. He has all the physical tools to be top 5 in the league but I don't see it. Hewill be above average but I can never see him being this player that all his fans believe he will become.

+1 for blackjesus. I was just about to post up some stuff from that Celtics playoff against the Bulls.. Overrated.. HA

Some of you do not watch basketball...

Who on the Bulls is a decent 3pt shooter?

Derrick Rose has taken 7 3pt shots this season... You cant hit 10 if you take 7..... besides that isnt his game.

Deng isnt a 3pt shooter... Hes much more concerned with shooting over 45% than scoring an extra 3-4 points if he took a step back on his curls, and cuts
Salmons... nuff said.

Derrick isnt gone be a vocal leader? You have to be instilled with that confidance. Buttom line is they might as well go and get some cap space.

We've got an illegal procedure on "Black". When people we'redoubting him in his rookie season, theseries against the Celtics was validation foreveryone who was hyping himup. People took notice. I admittedly jumped onthe bandwagon. But now a quarter of the way through the following season, you can't go back and use the same evidence to say that he'snot overrated today. If he is playing hurt, looking at the current state of the Bulls, then he needs to cut it out and let his body fully heal. I never reallywatched him in his rookie season, but I did watch the Celtics series, which has led to me trying to keep up with him this season. I have been impressed with afew flashes here and there, but I haven't been floored by any means.

I'm not trying to write off Rose as a bust. But what I'm seeing this season pales in comparison to what thought I would see. It could be injury. Itcould be depression or something mental (I think the SAT scandal could have gotten to him among other things). It could be the lack ofa shooter to spread thefloor. Either way you cut it, this is not the same guy from the Boston series, let alone an improved version.
