Dressing Better Vol 2.0

Nice pickup Wis!

I received my pairs of RLs today as well. I actually got the loafers that A ordered. Thing is that I ordered the Suede Penny Loafers instead  :smh:

Still deciding whether or not I should keep em, but I figured the Suede ones would look a lot better on me.
Snuff or chocolate? I've contemplated the latter..

Anyone got info on Justin Tuck's suit?

Whats up fellas.  I'm generally just a lurker on NT and the DB thread is one that I check daily.  You all have some great ideas/insight. Kudos.

I had a question about sport coats, particularly those that have been thrifted.  I recently picked up a Canali and an Oscar De la Renta at great prices.  Got em tailored and all, but I still cant get that fit that some of you all achieve.  Particularly Ksteezy and Pinoy.  I guess what I'm trying to ask is whether I can get the slim/modern fit with some of these older coats?  I feel like they're still a bit boxy, particularly in the shoulders.  Am I just doing it wrong? lol

Also, any suggestions for a November wedding in Miami?  Colors?  Trying to avoid the grey suit, been doing that fairly often.  Thanks

You can't unfortunately. There's only so much you can tailor. That was the style during that era...think Ryan G. in Gangster Squad.

Here's me several years ago in a 'slim' BR and J. Crew jacket, respectively. This was before they have the current slim cut. I had the sides taken in, but still fit weird.

And here's me with a slim fitting suit that's made to my specs:

RE: Wedding. I'd ask first to see if there's a theme. If not, I'd do navy since it's in the winter time. Charcoal would work too.

You have quite a few options. I love their trousers. They probably account for at least 80% of mine.

Shoulders are tricky. Most can't do it and those that can will charge you the cost of suit WJ4 is suggesting. I recently had the shoulders on one of my suits done. Guy is the best in Houston and charged me $200 just for the shoulders. Fitting took about hour. It was a $1800 suit though.

I got a job, and the attire is business casual.

My first day is Sept 9, but they didn't explain business casual.

Ima suit up first day, but any ideas of what business casual is?

It varies with each firm. It can range from a polo and chinos to jacket required. Play it by ears.

What were people wearing when you interviewed? Wear a suit the first day, it's good cause thats when you are paraded around to meet people and it will allow you to see what others are wearing.

Yeah I'll definitely do that. I hope its just chinos with a dress shirt.

But suiting up isn't so bad. I only have a black suit though, from when I was 280

Nothing wrong with utilizing your network, bro. Good luck on the job! Continue to network and climb up the ladder.
