Dressing Better Vol 2.0

anyone have an article or opinions on that "blazer + t shirt" combo?
vintage shirt, rock shirt, what have you.

thx in advance.

I know a lot of people have Herschel Supply Co bags, but how well do they hold up with the canvas material over time? I need to get a new duffle bag since my old one fell apart...
They are OK. What do you plan to use if for? Travel, Gym, etc. I used my duffle for travel and it took a beating on flights. I have since upgraded.

Ah ok cool, thanks for the info yeah I pretty much will be using it for gym stuff mostly, short trips back home when I take the bus or drive back for breaks, and maybe one flight for a school conference...do you think it'd be good for that? what kind of bag did you end up upgrading to?

Picked up some Generic Man's and they are too damn small. No returns and last sizes. :x :x

Will be going to buy/sell for cheap.

FWIW I have a Herschel (Village) backpack that I got for my last semester and a half at school and the stitching at the base of one of the shoulder straps started to come undone only a few months into using it. This is with daily use, carrying a 15" laptop and a couple of 1 subject notebooks so nothing extremely heavy. Looks-wise, I really like the bag. But the quality is questionable. Also, their 1-year limited warranty is nothing compared to, say, LL Bean's or Jansport's.

Anyone know how Opening Ceremony fits? Thinking about grabbing these, if they run large I can fit a 46. That's the largest size in stock

Buying shoes online is a risky business especially since each brand (not to mention each model) varies quite a bit in sizing.

Playing with stripes today, I liked it surprisingly:

Newest Tricker's came in today. I had these made from inspiration of the Cool Grey XIs:

If you guys ever want high quality footwear from the UK, I would highly suggest https://www.shoehealer.co.uk/

Richard provides great service. I wanted fine UK shoes/boots, but because I was unsure about the sizing, I was hesitant. This was the reason why my first 10 pairs or so of shoes were from Alden. I've bought all of my UK based brands from him, great customer service and great gent.

Went to Barney's Warehouse Sale yesterday in NYC...if you're in NYC don't bother, all their men's stuff is still pretty overpriced, selection is vast but the prices suck.

Got these in today from LandsEnd...$29.75 shipped, AceofJays recommended them in the old thread

I'm interested in this. How did you order though? I'm interested in what the shippign will be so I'm trying to fill out the form.
At the checkout it asks for House name or number, town, city, county....what's the difference between town and city. I'm confused

Also how long does it normally ship and have you ran into any customs problems or anythign. I've never ordered anything outside of the country

I wasn't aware you could get Tricker's made to order. How much did that run you, if you don't mind
Anyone can custom order a pair of Tricker's, my man. You can choose basically everything: the last, the lining, the welt color, the eyelet colors, etc. But to put in one pair is costly...you're looking at maybe $700-900? This is why people set up a group buy. The cost per shoes comes down a lot if you can get a group to get in with you. I don't recall the exact cost. I can't discuss the pricing as well. You need to contact Richard, I would highly emailing him. He responds very quickly.

I always ordered via email...mainly because every single pair was a special order.. Even if they weren't, I'd still do it via email.

I just request for the shoes to be sent to something like:

John Smith
123 Street
Niketown, CA 12345
USA

Out of the 12 pairs, I only ran into issues with customs one time. I had to fax customs the declaration form. For all pairs I never have to fill out anything, they take care of that. If you do order, I would suggest you request Parcel Force shipping. It will be delivered via USPS. You can also request DHL, which will be delivered via DHL. DHL is super quick. It takes about 3 days for everything, meaning if they send the shoes on Monday, I will get it by Wednesday. However, you risk getting hit with a fee. With DHL, I got 3 letters a couple of weeks later to pay for the duty fees. They were about $50 per pair. With Parcel Force, it takes a day or so longer, but I have never got hit with a fee yet, knock on wood. For example, those black/gray Tricker's were sent on Tuesday, and I received them on Friday via Parcel Force. If they were sent via DHL, I would've got them on Thursday.

That's been the general consensus of their sales. It's basically the left over stuff from the Barneys throughout the USA after all the mark downs dumped into one location, and the prices are marked up slightly higher. Don't expect to come out on steals at Barneys, ie pay $100 for some $800 Balmain jeans. If you can get things at 40% off, that's already a great bargain.

This works best for me: I built relationships with the sales advisers of my favorite stores, and they give me a heads up on newly marked downs. I guess my biggest deals I got were a pair of APC denim for $120 and Paul Smith overcoat for around $600, marked down from a $1,000 or so.

If you truly want steals, you need to continuously browse Yoox. I bought a 100% silk Marc Jacobs cardigan for $140 or so, retail was like $700.

probably something similar to this: http://us.topman.com/webapp/wcs/sto...d=207489&parent_categoryId=207478&pageSize=20
but i want something of top notch quality. $100-$200 range?
Here you go: http://www.epauletshop.com/servlet/the-1464/'Rivet-Chino-Black-Canvas/Detail

Seems to fit the bill. The weight is 8 oz which makes it ideal for all 4 seasons. Crafted in the USA. The waist can be let out up to 2 inches, which is uncommon for chinos.

Epaulet makes great stuff at great prices. I probably have over 15 pairs of trousers from them. If you have any questions, just call or shoot them an email.

Sizing is super easy. They have measurements up there already. Just measure your best pair of pants and go from there. November is mighty far away. I'd rather buy today and have them within a couple of days, but that's just me. Also, with Epaulet...if you like something, you need to buy ASAP. They often run special cloths that are not restockable. They only make small amounts since the firm is small so when they're gone...they're gone.

NT Please recommend me some comfortable casual shorts. I am getting tired of baggy cargo shorts because they don't look right on me. I am 6'2, please show me in the right direction.

not sure why type of price range/length youre looking for, but the tommy hilfiger core shorts are my favorites. not too short or long and are really comfortable and inexpensive
