Dressing better

So I'm going job hunting today. I don't wanna dress like I'm going to an interview, just maybe casual
I was just thinking white dress shirt/grey RL sweater vest/jeans.

Would that be alright or what?

what type of job are you looking for? that will determine what is appropriate wear.

Isn't it too hot for a vest?
Any who, I would wear dress pants or at least some khaki's or chinos because at times, when looking for a job the manager tends to interview the individualon the spot.
Just to be sure, dress it up a bit since you're already wearing a dress shirt, throw in a tie (or put it in your pockets just in case, I used to do this)because you only have one chance to make a good first impression so take it.

Niidawg, yeah I frequent SF, I'm just usually on the SW&D section most of the time.
I see your fits when I go into the MC section though.

I ended up not going today. Maybe tomorrow. But anyways, I'm looking for a position in sales. So Best Buy, Lids, and Big 5 (sporting goods chain store inWest coast) are my top 3.

agreed, varvatos footwear is looking very nice for the prices there. still trying to find a substitute for those dayton service boots posted on pg. 200ish,very tough to find anything close to that...

Those Topman jackets look nice, but I'm a little discouraged by Jkissi's post

. As always, nothing beats checking the item out for yourself. Arethose items instore?

Jkiss, where do you get your skinny ties?

I went to pick up a belt today at BR and they gave me a small catalog with their MadMen stuff and I'm highly disappointed at the price. Suits will beroughly $500, $300-350 for the coat and another $150 or so for the pants. For $500, I'd rather go get a Boss suit that's on sale. Nothing else reallystands out..the fedoras, shirts, ties...they all look the same as regular BR stuff.

Very few shoes, even at that price range compare to the Daytonas. As an alternative, again I must say the Red Wing Gentleman Traveler is a good option.
For $130, it is a great deal.

If anything else, get some Paul Smith Ricards. It was on sale for around $250-$275 at Nordstrom a few weeks ago.

And then wear them out/distress them yourself and it will mean more to you.

I've been in the market for a pair of boots for a while now and those Gentleman Traveler's look like they may be the one. Now the onlyquestion I have is on the sizing. I'm usually a 10.5 with socks so is anyone able to shed light on how these fit?

damn RFX, everytime you post a pair of boots I go looking for them online, and none of them besides those Indy boots are in my size, but there's no way ican get them and tell my mother how much I ended up paying for them.
any other boots similar to the Indy boots and the Red Wings you just posted. I'm a 14 or 15

Damn, some cheap @$% (keywords here) Bullhead Jeans shrunk on me and look like garbage now. I bought em cuz I like how their skinny fit wasn't overlyskinny like most companies. It reminded me of the Levi's 511 fit. I like my Levi's 511 but since they're made out of that thin stretchy materialthey tend to wrinkle up easily which drives me nuts so I wanted to try out these Bullhead's. Anyway, pretty much garbage cuz they shrunk after one washing.Stay away d00ds.

The bullheads are a lot thicker/stiffer material, I guess skinny jeans need to be in that thin/stretchy material or else they go to crap.

They run long, but narrow. I'm a 13 in most cuts, but the GTs in 12 leave a ton of room. They are narrow, but the leather stretches toaccommodate.

Thanks for the response. I was afraid they'd run large. Those linked Cherry Red Gentleman Traveler's are in a 10.5 but I'm almostpositive they'd be too large. Sucks that that's probably the cheapest I'll find them online or in person

The price on those Red Wing GT has increased tremendously. I think they even changed the name to Beckman now.
They were retailing for about $240 a year ago, now their going for $275+.

Sizing on the boots can be difficult to ascertain, that's why it is better to order from Zappos or Endless because they take free returns/exchanges so youcan get your right size.
I found it for around $220 here: http://www.bakershoe.com/...1-gentleman-traveler.htm .

This Bed Stu Deputy Boot isn't bad for $130 from UrbanOutfitters.com.
Size 11, 12 and 13 left online.

I didn't even know Fossil made boots but this one looks decent, a bit pricey at $140 but maybe though since I am not sure about their quality.
