Dumb things you thought as a kid?

If I could only open a manhole cover, I would find the Ninja Turtles down there.
Every sitcom was actually filmed in the city the characters were based in.
If I drank blood (even my own), I would become a vampire.

I thought news stations/networks had technology to extract memories from people's brains when they would show reenactments.

i thought the music played on the radio was from bands that showed up to the station to play one song...

Watched an animaniacs episode where they flushed themselves down the toilet. I was traumatized by that as a kid for a while.
I also remember thinking freeways closed at a certain time at night. When I stayed out late with my parents I would always ask them if we would have enough time to get back home before the freeways closed.

Thought chocolate chips on waffles were cockroaches so I avoided them at all costs.

- That we'd live forever unless we were killed.
- That cops were good guys.
- That our soldiers were heroes.
- That America was the best.

I grew up with a lot of disappointment.

I remember I always thought I couldn't see the mom (whoever she was) on the Muppets show was because our TV was too small. Remember my grandma copped one of them big screen joints and I'm like it's going down tomorrow morning, imma finally see this *****. Still couldn't see her face :(.

Watching America's most wanted on fox had me paranoid as a kid that some of the criminals are just running around at night and some could be outside my window

Hogwarts was real and my older siblings did go and the lego factory was in my neighbors basement

The Chupacabra was always on the spanish news stations when i was a kid an i always feared it would make its way to the US and kill me

Just like the others( I thought I was the only one), I had to be hand held crossing the street because I was soo focused on the manhole covers WAITING for Michelangelo to pop up.

Julia Roberts was the "it woman" for Romance films during the 90's. So every time I saw her kissing dudes, I used to shake my head thinking, "this lady is gonna have another baby." I was raised with the notion you only have a baby with one person.

I'll add more when I can remember.

Also, I find it very surprising you guys thought that girls did not poop.

That white people with Blue or Green eyes saw things with a tint of the color of their eyes.

Being color blind meant seeing only in black and white

That we'd have space age technology and flying cars by the year 2000

growing up on the Simpsons, I always thought females were better than males

Once saw a movie where someone said "That guy didn't last 5 minutes with her in bed."

I was scared of females after that for a while because I thought the guy died during the sex on some preying mantis type **** :{

My uncle took me and my brother to watch Cape Fear when we were kids(not sure why), but I was legit shook thinking someone was stalking us. Used to check under the car when going out and everything

Asked what "No Vacancy" at a hotel meant, told it meant there weren't any rooms and wondered why a hotel wouldn't have any rooms in it.

Considered a microwaved ball park frank on a plain bun fine dining.

80's baby so saw the Thriller video all the time(MTV would run it all day). Lived near a graveyard so considered zombies a legitimate threat. Numerous bad nightmares and everything.

Thought America was the ****. Come to think of it, I remember being very enchanted with the notion that I was a better person because I was randomly born on different soil than someone else. Then my brain matured and I realized "oh wait that's moronic."
