entry level luxury cars.... EDIT: I DO NOT want one. just want people's opinion.

If you're talking about the G sedan, then there is no "downscale" equivalent in Nissans lineup

Looks are one (subjective) thing, but if you're referring to technical specs or performance (you might not), then yourre not very well versed in auto knowledge. The G has much to offer over Nissan sedans and offers a very different drive experience (especially the rwd sport trims)

You own either a Nissan or Infiniti, right?

Obviously you can say the All Wheel Drive or the RWD G sedan, but why would they make a Nissan like that? Oh they do...it is called a G37/Q50 :lol

Like I said, yes the All Wheel Drive or the RWD G sedan are 2 platforms that they have over Nissan sedans, but if you want them, you have to go up. I don't see a Camry/Avalon or Accord with All Wheel Drive or RWD...you have to go up to either the TL (Acura) or IS-series (Lexus)...which are the higher end brands of the companies. Might as well bash VWs and buy an Audi then, right?

I have a 2011 Maxima SV Premium and my wife has a 2013 Altima 3.5 SL loaded. I have friends with G35s and G37s and I even considered an M35/45 when looking at cars. If you take out the RWD option, that they have....please show me what the G, of all Infinitis to list, has over the Maxima?

We have the rear power shade, backup camera, navigation, BT phone, BT audio streaming, Panoramic Roof, heated/cooled seats, woodgrain (if you want that), Rear climate control, and many other features.

Hell my wife's new loaded Altima has lane departure sensors/alarms, backup sensors, Google Points of Interest, SMS messages read aloud to you and can view them on the screen, illuminated kick plates, & puddle lights under the car.

There are very few reasons for the AVERAGE consumer to buy one over a Maxima if you are going for luxury and a great price for what you are getting. That is unless you want to say you have an Infiniti, which I know a lot of people out there like to do.

Obviously if you are a gear head and want to mod the car, then you might opt for something in RWD or 6MT flavors.

Yea that's all nice but I personally would prefer rwd over "sms messages being read to me" and "puddle lights" and "google points of interest"

I don't knock anyone who buys entry level luxury new. Luxury has to start somewhere. Used entry level luxury though? Nah.

Now a person who buys used "higher end" luxury with the intention to stunt and not for practical purposes are the people who look foolish to me. If you are going to do it, then DO IT. If you buy used luxury, you are basically saying you can't really do it.

Obviously there is a market for used luxury, but to me the whole idea of having a luxury car would mean having a new luxury car. If I couldn't purchase a new luxury car I would much rather have a new economy car (Honda, Toyota) than an older higher end luxury car. I don't want any parts of older luxury car maintenance, or want to pretend like I am doing it when I know I'm really not.

people need to understand a few things

-the way a car looks to the buyer matters a lot
-nobody wants to spend money on things they dont care about
-average person doesnt care about performance or whatever options the they wont be using
-they can buy a 328i over a 335i and the other cars that give more simply because they like how the 3 series looks and dont need to pay extra for stuff they dont care about

when buying a car its all subjective more to you might not mean **** to me and vice versa because we prefer different things

Like I said, you are more than likely not the average consumer and I get that whole-heartedly.

For you to prefer RWD over FWD let's me know you are more than likely on the performance end or in your poast life was. You and I both know damb well, you can sell some random features like "Message read back" to any middle-aged random as opposed to showing them a RWD car :lol

Don't knock Google though, I am all about Google :lol . I have to say it is convenient to be able to find something on your phone through Google Maps & Places and send it directly to your car's navi and the directions ready to go. It is the wifey's so it isn't like I do that often though :lol

wheels and stance make everything better along with some DIY mods

its why my jetta turns heads

it works for MOST cars. seriously

where is my guy Monday to make sense of this all.

the money you savin on gas and expensive maintenance/insurance you can easily do this to a camry

_'s don't know what a set of wide wheels, coilovers, and a lip kit will do to a car

word to this kia

While I think this looks absolutely great..... unless your running air shocks it renders you car practically useless. this is the epitome of fashion over function. Anyone doing this to their DD is "trying to stunt" waaaaay harder than someone with an entry level Bimmer.

Airshocks... then wheels... then kit.... settling for coil overs is balling backwards IMO

I see way too many nice cars with damaged front fascias and bent fenders thanks to this trend. :lol why you think so many of these kids have sticker bombed body panels ? spent their whole budget on aesthetic mods and cant afford dat dere factory clear coat... or full coverage insurance :lol :{

lulz you drive a soccer mom car and brag about it, what makes you think you have a valid opinion?

Clearly you aren't affording either

afford? you don't know me. i could drive over to the dealership right now and get one if I wanted. hell half the country could. But why would I? Im 22 still moving up in my career. the hell would i want or need a 50k car for?

ehh. you can get a fully loaded srt8 challenger for 50K. i will take that over any bmw any day of the week

Not everyone wants a stiff riding car with most of the money going to performance for a DD :lol

:rollin... since when is the BRZ a "soccer mom" car ?

:lol how many kids and their gear you think you could possibly fit in there?... back seats are about as functional as a square wheel

Its a damn roadster.... what makes you think you have a valid opinion ?

:lol clearly a nerve was struck by this essay of a response

1) The Altima & Maxima are both great cars and offer tremendous value (IMO), had one myself
2) The G being a Nissan product (Nissan "Skyline") is stating the obvious, didn't bother to mention it
3) You proved my point that sometimes you have to go "upscale" as the "downscale" equivalent doesn't exist (like the G sedan, IS, TL-AWD...), this is totally independent of badge engineering and very dependent on (global) marketing. I even considered putting the Nissan badges on, but only for like 5 min
4) I didn't even come close to talking about "average consumers" so you're talking to a brick wall
5) I kinda consider myself an enthusiast, and 6MT and RWD were the first criteria for my car search. I can tell you aren't, so I won't even bother going into how different the G is from the Max/Alt, just acknowledge they're not very close at all to a "motorhead" although from your perspective, I don't blame you for feeling the way you do. Put another way, I don't give a **** about illuminated kickplates, although my car happens to have them :p
6) The G is not a luxury car in my sense of the definition

Good choice in cars, hope you enjoy them

Yeah you aren't going down the dealer and buying anything and now I know why you are so angry

Quick twitter search is all you need

No feels were had at all, why would I be upset? :lol I just was stating for the average person, not the person who's top 2 criteria are RWD and 6MT.

You say you weren't talking about the "average consumer" but there was nowhere where you said that you were referring to a specific car demographic either...

What did I say that makes you think I am not a car enthusiast? Because I didn't side with you on preferring RWD? Are you going to throw a turbo on a new Maxima? Good luck even trying with the CVT guaranteeing you will have issues in your future. The kick plates and other lights are not on my car, and I wouldn't tell my wife to buy a car because of those features, they just so happened to be on the model she wanted on the lot. Like it would make or break a car sale if they weren't on the car? :lol Again, I was simply stating that you can sell random stuff like that to most (not all) buyers than convincing them on why they should go get a RWD manual car instead.

I responded to your post yes, but obviously it was not meant for you, like I said it wasn't. The type of cars you want, you would never consider a new Maxima because that isn't what you want in a car, but you can't say that G sedans have much to offer over Nissan sedans other than 6MT and RWD/AWD options. For you those 2 options make it a huge difference, but I was saying that aside from the drive-train there is nothing that makes it a "landslide" choice.

I will leave it alone though since I see you are quick question other's car knowledge...

I'm a doctor and I drive a c300. Come at me bros

You should of at least copped the C350 with the AMG package like me because being a doctor you cant just have an entry level or you are just stuntin. Of course I will get ridiculed in this thread for not having bought the C63.:{

How do you like your C300? Are you a member on MBworld as well?

i would have liked the 350 but it's not practical for me right now. the C300 is my only car and i prefer to have AWD for these NE winters. i have no complaints about the car. it serves it's purpose.
i am on MBworld but im not an active poster

for those who complain about entry level luxury cars, you must not have driven them. A "C" class is a great car, a 328 has a 260 hp engine with great handling and a beautiful inside. The insecurity in this thread is amazing, hell the BRZ is an INCREDIBLE car. Most of you probably haven't even driven these cars, but when you do you will realize how immature you are being. I know many people who can go buy a ferrari in cash like its buying a pack of gum, but they don't. They choose more practical cars, i have driven and have had my family own some great cars but my sisters c230 with upgraded suspension drives just as well as all of them. When i am 23-24 i will be looking at my next car, i will more than likely buy a A4, 328 or a C300. Does that make me a dumb person for not opting for the s4 , m3 or c63 that i will be able to afford?
