FOOD THREAD VOL. GRUB LIFE

Franklin's worth the hype?

Always thought NY BBQ was a joke, but my experience at Hometown yesterday was a game-changer.
It def was delicious. But i mean u can get good bbq anywhere in texas. I honestly wouldnt wait in line again unless in with some out of towners.

Any colorado folks got some suggestions in the denver/granby area? Hit the dm im not a picky eater at all

atxhitter03 atxhitter03 two years ago, the week before my trip to Austin, Franklin's caught fire and they were closed. We wound up going to Micklethwait and it was :pimp:. Also had Salt Lick but in the airport  .

Super Duper

Back to eating like a normal, healthy person tonight. Doing balsamic marinated grilled chicken with fresh mozzarella and bruschetta along with roasted asparagus/ minzano tomatoes with garlic/lemon/oregano/shaved pecorino.

Pics to come if it turns out alright.

Meat 2 cheese ratio looks uneven

It is. I asked for extra meat (pause). I also asked for the cheese sauce but didnt know how much they would put. Instead of cheese sauce, I got provolone. Which I didn't want.

Place: Figueroa Philly Cheese Steak

Steak, Mushroom and Cheese with an order of chili cheese fries. For the sandwich I wanted the cheese sauce they have but ole girl gave me the wrong ****, so it was provolone

wheres the cheese

Went 2 for 4 on dishes last night :lol.

Ozzie rolls were a no go. Oil temp was way too high and used too much dough in the rolls. The outside fried almost immediately and the insides were still doughy. And for the sous vide mashed potatoes, all the slices didn’t fully cook due to overcrowding the bag. Both easy fixes. Green beans came out fine.

Steaks came out a perfect medium rare. The flavor from the butter & thyme added just enough extra flavor.
After sous vide then after sear
