Hmm, maybe that’s why they’re traditionally cut angled.

From the pic, they look pretty crispy and they probably cooked a lot faster than if you did bigger sliced portions.

how hot was ur oil
when u put em in???
looks like u had a lot of oil still in them
u know how if ur oil isnt hot enough
it kinda soaks into whatever ur cooking
or was that taken RIGHT after pulling them out
still looks good
but just curious

Medium high heat. There's oil on them because I drained em on the towel. Probably best to put em on a rack.

I don't use "butter"

If i had guests or something and I was making a dish I might utilize it.
But for dishes for myself I never use it.

Yea, at most I would take some from Cracker Barrel but I never use it so I would be wasting my money buying it

I have been taught and have read that olive oil shouldn't be cooked with due to the low smoke point.

I would get familiar with smoke points

This is true but I don't use it to coat the pan.
I drizzle it on one side as it's cooking then flip it or alternate.
Odd prep but that's just how I have always done it.

You gotta leave that spray alone

I've heard things but is butter healthier?

olive oil
or extra virgin olive oil
irritates me when folks dont know the difference

I use regular olive oil for my eggs but I use evoo for other things.
