FOOD THREAD VOL. GRUB LIFE

I’ve eaten Chinese food 2-3 times a week forever but haven’t had any since late Feb when all my spots started shutting down. Wife found a thread on one of her County Moms groups and the 20 min drive was so worth it tonight.

Most are closed.

Only a high end one around the corner from me is open. Havent bothered checking further.

Not in love with Chinese food.

It was thick
Considering the beef stock
Chicken stock
And mushroom stock that was in there
Came out great TO ME
Are you implying that because there were 3 different stocks automatically means the sauce had to have been thick?

In that picture, the saucelooked very watery.

I am not saying your food didn't taste good so please stop acting like Tony Allen.

Oxtails Might not look good
In the pics
But it’s good as hell

Yea you can look at that and tell the sauce is nowhere near "thick."

But again, not saying it doesn't taste good.

I just know Oxtail GRAVY isn't runny like this.

Take the top off and let some of that liquid boil off.

Are all the Chinese spots closed by y’all?
They are open round my way

Yeah, I have about a few I rotate with by my job and crib and they’re all shut down including just all the other local ones. Had to take a 20 min drive for this tonight.

I wasn’t trying to make a gravy though......

The oxtail gravy can be runny if you feel like it, honestly looks good aside from all that extra fat and skin.
Yea, funny that was something that I noticed in one of Mark's videos.

Old head dude cooked the Oxtails without trimming the fat, I guess it is done just to keep the flavor. I prefer it that way and just take it off while eating.

Yeah you leave some, you'll never get rid of all the fat, it's in there. I get rid of super excessive pieces or fry it down during browning.

I trim most of it off but leave a small enough for the browning process.

I didn’t trim any fat
I wanted it all
I also didn’t wash my meat either
I just seasoned
And went straight to pan fry
