FOOD THREAD VOL. GRUB LIFE

Jolly Bee looks terrible. Willing to try, but not understanding the appeal, at least visually.
Sound like you’re in line here

I heard Filipinos are serious about their Jollibee. It's deep. I had to do some research before going because I didn't get the gravy part of it. It's not bad. It's different but it's not bad. It's still all fast food, it's not like it's a gourmet, hole in the wall spot. Plating isn't what they're going for. Next time I go, I'll try their burgers and maybe their pineapple drink.

Pineapple juice there is poppin af. My fav.

Im Filipino and Jollibee is cool, I do have my times where I crave it. The chicken is good, but tastes terrible a day later. Sometimes ill get a bucket, have a couple leftover and eat it the next day and its disgusting. Spaghetti is good too, I know a lot of people dont like or even get the sweet spaghetti (with hotdogs) but I really like it.

A good burger doesn’t need bacon.

True but bacon makes anything better.

The pizza spot by me makes a banging cheeseburger, I tried it sometime a few weeks ago with bacon and these dudes dice up the bacon. Yall coudnt just slap it on like everyone else, was weird af all diced up like that.

Something similar happened to me.

I was eating pineapple and watermelon and after a while its was like the pineapple became more acidic to the point its hurt my tongue. I could still taste other food but it was with a sting for the rest of the day.

The watermelon did help. I figured I was eating too much that week so I just held back.
Yea. It's bromelain

It's found in pineapple and they use it as a meat tenderizer for cheap cuts of meat. Found out afterwards

Yeah, I know about bromelain and how it tenderizes meat (via Guga) but I didn't know it had that type of effect on ppl when they eat it directly.

Pls dont use that dudes pic that he took with a Sidekick LX as your reference.

I could've used NASA's Webb telescope, it's still going to look like Chef Boyardee. It wasn't bad though. It reminds me of a dish a close relative of mine makes. Basically spaghetti with meat sauce and kielbasa. Jolly Spaghetti is nothing close to that but it's like an amateur version of that dish.

What's the best burger to get?

Yes, even though it's not shown in my Sidekick pics, I did get the peach/mango pie, very good. The crust reminds me a bit of the crust you see with Popeyes pies (without all of that excess cinnamon). I heard there's another pie, a purple one (forgot what filling)? How is that one?
Ube probably. Didnt know they have that one.

Peach mango pie is alright, everyone raves about it but im not a huge fan. I wont order it but if someone gives me one ill eat it.

What phone you got for real though.

No Mayo; No Cheese; No Stupid Lettuce; No Dumb Ketchup; No Pickles; No Tomatoes

Definitely getting rid of the mustard, that is no bueno, and no pickles. Everything else is a go.

Sounds like the pineapple wasn't ripe enough.

I like the Quarter pounder combo

One thing that I hate is when I bite in to a burger and it falls apart. I'm not trying to reconstruct my sandwich every bite. That's when you know there is too many ingredients.

Y'all with this mustard slander :smh:
Only mustard I enjoy with my sustenance is honey mustard. And even that has to be balanced right.

I worry for y’all dousing your hot dogs or burgers in mustard.. I know the only thing y’all tasting is that sour a** condiment.

Anytime I get an unfortunate mistaken burger or something with mustard on it, I frown like DC at half the food pic posts in here.

Mustard can't be used sparingly?

I'm not trying to douse a burger in any condiment

When you have to put a burger down on its top bun after a bite <<<

I remember a bunch of in-n-out stans used to rave about animal style.

Don’t that **** have mustard in it?

2 things.

1.) Yellow Mustard is such a strong and overwhelming condiment that even the smallest amount can sour some of the best burgers.

2.) I almost never see anyone who likes yellow mustard use it sparingly. It’s always doused in it, followed by a comment about how much they love mustard and how they don’t know why I don’t love mustard. Same as pickles.

I believe the most in n out does with mustard is they coat the Patties in mustard which you really cannot taste once it’s cooked.

Never: bacon

Usually not: lettuce and tomato

Always: cheese, onions, pickles
Pretty close to my breakdown. Bacon is fine, I guess. Not something I usually opt for though.

Yellow mustard is only acceptable when it’s mixed into a sauce or in used in conjunction with ketchup AND mayo. Using yellow mustard as the sole condiment is psychopath behavior.
