FOOD THREAD VOL. GRUB LIFE

thanks, man. i was surprised how good the cake came out. i enjoy carrot cake but don't love it, but this one is something i wouldn't mind eating often
I used to be addicted to carrot cake when I was a kid. The sweetness & cream on the cake worked so perfectly with the carrots & moistness of the bread. Haven't had it in a while. Your post has me craving it now, lol.

Damn! Sounds like a lot of work. How long does that process take on avg? + How do you stay warm with open areas throughout the house? It's like 3 degrees in Chicago right now I think, lol.
Man, I'd walk off the job if they had us working in 3° weather . Finger dexterity would be non existent.

We opened & closed the roof & wall back in November. Took 2 days. It was like 50° out. Then framing for the rooms went up which took a few days and then HVAC guys came in and did their thing.

I don't mind it in certain stews/soups. Needs to be real cinnamon though and well layered

Same goes for other traditional baking spices like allspice, cloves, etc.

Should I get a black stone? My pellet grill sucks in the cold and I could use a black stone in my garage since I have space and lp gas is safe to burn inside.

Garage has a ton of ventilation built in. So basically are you guys happy with your purchase?

Stone takes a while to heat up in the cold, but your garage should be straight. Love mine.

Word, I’m gonna get one with a lid so in theory that would help it get hot quicker.

I need some outdoor cooking in the winter but I don’t want to deal with my charcoal and pellet grills in the wind.

cinnabon is good and all but you get a gourmet cinnamon roll from a small bakery or whatever and it's so much better usually

Would you pay that for a cinnamon roll. There’s a hippie spot coming to that area. Called cinnaholic with all kinda extra fat options.

Ehh, I'll wait for you to review it before I hop out there. But I am more open to paying for a Cinnabon so we will see.

I'm afraid to ask.

What? 👀😬

lol...it's just taking those pillsbury ones, pouring heavy cream over them, and pouring melted butter with brown sugar and cinnamon over em. cover. and bake. makes for a gooey'er and tastier cinnamon roll similar to cinnabon. you can make your own frosting or use the icing that comes with...i might try it tomorrow morning

I would pay like $10 for a really good one

I love cinnamon rolls but I barely eat them. Cinnamon raisin bread is one of my favorite things too

Post a link or 2 for examples please.

I see.

They are mostly sprucing up the cream/frosting.

I'm good on that. Not really a selling point for me.
