FOOD THREAD VOL. GRUB LIFE

Cream of mushroom sucks. Campbell's knows that, that's why they had to invent green bean casserole and market it through homes that way as part of thanksgiving.

Usually, we got around 60-70 people. Will probably be about 15 this year.

Escovitch Fish
Maybe Fried Turkey
Roast Chicken
Fried Chicken
Oxtail or Roast Beef
Vegan Slaw
Roast Veggies
Fresh veggies
Steam Veggies
Curry Goat
Mac and Cheese
Rice and peas
That's how we do it, no one really rocks with Turkey but i've never tackled it myself. Feel like if I gave it a shot they'd eat it.

Yeah, we don't really deal with it it like that( The most we did was roast a turkey breast one year and used it to make sandwiches after) but I got two free turkeys from whole foods. I gave one away and we will probably fry this one.

We’re not gathering with family this year so me and the gf are gonna try our hand in making stuff we’ve never made from scratch before.

so far we wanna try making pumpkin and apple pies from scratch. Eggnog for the whisky. And homemade bread rolls. We’re obviously gonna roast a Turkey but we don’t have anything else thought up yet. Any suggestions on good made from scratch ideas?

This recipe changed my mind about green bean casserole and it's easy to make. Everything is made from scratch.

I think it is #Individual.

I call it stuffing.
People around me call it stuffing.

We don't STUFF it though.

THAT might be #Cultural

Never called it stuffing nor ate a stuffed Turkey. My mom makes the best damn dressing in the world and I can never get mine as good as hers. She can walk me through it a million times and it’s still not right.

For those who are vegan or like vegan meals.....

I am not a fan of Impossible/Beyond burgers.....it is very offputting to me to eat something that looks like meat, smells like meat and tastes like meat but is not meat. In that case, just get some actual meat! Being that I am not a regular beef eater, I prefer a patty made out of beans, potatoes or mushrooms when I want a vegan burger.
