found a wallet with 740 bucks inside ....

I lost a $5k chip at Caesars Palace a few months ago and someone found it and returned it. I was literally in shock. Since then, I've vowed that going forward, I will return anything and everything I find.

If you lose money at a casino and someone finds it, the person that finds it will get arrested and charged for theft. There was a big newspaper article about it in my local newspaper a few weeks ago.
And as mentioned before if the person lived in the hood, I would have returned the money. IF they lived in a nice neighborhood, I would have kept the money and returned the purse.

Kudos to you. I lost my wallet a few months ago - got it back but without the 30 euros I had in it. I didn't expect to get the cash back.

Hopefully the good deed brings you some good luck.

I don't think I could have done what you did. But $5 though? I would have felt better not getting anything at all.

I'd definitely return the wallet, WITH ALL OF THE MONEY STILL INSIDE.

And I wouldn't accept the $5.00 either. Seeing her thankful and on the verge of tears because of what I've done is a good enough reward for me.

For all you might know, that moment of goodness you just displayed could have a lasting impact on her young'n who just witnessed a prime example of the goodness man is capable of.

You did the right thing OP. The Golden Rule is soo important. If I lost something, I would hope that someone would return it to me, so if Im in a position to do that for someone Im gunna do it.

I found this wallet in front of my building like a month ago. It belonged to some little HS kid. There was only about 40 dollars and a bunch of his little cards and his school schedule. Good thing he had some little Community House ID with his picture on it and his name. I was able to track him down on FB and messaged him and told him I had his wallet. Little dude came over and picked it up the next day. He offered me 10 dollars but I was like nah its ok man.

Theres enough people out there that wont do the right thing. I dont want to be the one to add to that. And you guys dont know what that money was for. That $740 couldve been the difference between having a roof over her head or life or death.
