She's 100% responsible, because there was likely no way to get her to the airport unless he sped, so it was probably just assumed by both of them that speeding was involved.
She should offer to pay a large portion of it, and if he's a nice guy he might suggest that he'd still pay half. But it is mostly her fault.
she called him, i gotta be there in 20 mins, thats obviously a sense of urgency, because she had to make the flight or else she was gonna miss it.
I guess you guys missed the part where OP said they were already at the airport. He was driving too fast through the loading zone, not a good move.
Personally, I don't think she owes him anything. It would have been courteous of her to offer, but c'mon fam let's be real, that's not what the majority of women do. Keep it pushing, pay the ticket (...or fight it). Next time she asks you for a favor, just say no. It's the only card you can play, everything else is petty. You can't take her to court, you can't force her to pay you. Bust her window? Scratch her car? What's the point?
There's a reason they say...be a MAN about it.
but she called him, because she was gonna miss his flight, so it was implied that he was gonna have to "rush" or "hurry" cause im sure she didnt wanna take a nice sunday drive.
Speeding on the freeway to get to the airport- Yes
Speeding through a loading zone in the airport - All OP's fault.
I've rushed to the airport tons of times, and getting to LAX is hell. However, once I'm in, I slow the $!#% down and tell the person to ease the $!#% up: "We're at the airport already, chill the $!#% out!". At the end of the day, the driver is in control of the car, not the passenger *shrugs*

If she missed her flight, it was the fault of her prior accommodation. He took the chance of speeding in the name of doing a favor for a "friend". She can at least meet him halfway(figuratively and literally). Your correct on everything you said but sadly you have no empathy for this situation which shows your moral fiber.Originally Posted by enlightenedespot
