I don't expect any extra service, I expect you to do your job. (Bring my food when it's ready, take my orders, bring my refills etc.) any extra you do is nice and if the person feels like tipping then they will.
What if every person applied this logic smh....
The police show up and say "you expect me to search for this criminal as hard as the 20% tippers"
Firefighters show up "you expect me to fight this fire as hard as the 20% tippers"
Drive thru works "you expect me to get your food as fast as the 20% tippers"
Rental car workers "you expect me to get your car as fast as the 20% tippers"
Sneaker store employees "you expect me to get your sneakers as fast as the 20% tippers"
This false sense of entitlement is annoying....
This is so stupid. And in so many words....you are proving yourself wrong.
Rental car workers: You don't think that if you tipped the rental car worker well, you wouldn't get to choose the exact vehicle you want? Or get upgraded?
Sneaker store employees: I've had finishline employees straight up hold shoes for me when retros would drop (this was before they started doing employee raffles). I tipped ol girl 20 bucks every time, which is nowhere near 20%, and I got shoes held for me. She'd even drop them off at my work for me. All I had to do was pay retail, and tip 20 bucks. You think she would do that for free? Or was it because I was tipping her?
Drive thru employees: This one dude at MacDonald's didn't give me a hard time when I ordered the MacGangBang (they always play dumb and say they don't know what that is). Dude just said "okay, pull up to the next windwow". I wrapped up a tiny bud in some paper and gave it to him. Whenever I'd see him in the drive thru, dude would endlessly hook up free macnuggets and soda's all the time, just for that ONE gesture.
Police men: paid a salary with amazing benefits There incentive to do their job or to "protect and serve" well is motivated by the ability to move up, and/or get a raise when they get their review. And they don't have customers or clients, so tipping doesn't even make sense here.
Fire men: also paid a salary with amazing benefits. Their incentive to do their job well is again, to get a raise and/or get promoted. Servers don't have that motivation since they only wanna serve. Again, no customers, so tipping doesn't really make sense here. Plus I'd be willing to bet they get tipped all the time (usually with food or drink) when they put out kitchen fires and such. People LOVE firefighters.
But YOU want the same service when you're tipping like ****, when everyone else is tipping 20%.
The false sense of entitlement is annoying.
