good quote for someone whos lost in life

Lifes journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting, "HOLYS@$T.....WHAT A RIDE!!!"

From the movie You, Me and Dupree:

"I see all you fresh-faced kidlets, sitting there in your neat little rows, and you're all just pods. Pods, waiting for your instructions. Now, someof you are gonna get zapped right away and be 15-year-old prodigies, little ****** Olympic gymnasts with their pictures on cereal boxes. Some of you will go onto college, and you'll find your rhythm there, then go chase down the titans of industry, or maybe straighten out our problems at the UN. But some of you,and this is the group that no one ever comes into Career Day and addresses, and it's criminal. Some of you are just gonna float along, eating spicy foods, humming black people's music into your 30s. Well into your 30s, languishing. This group of pods is gonna do a lot of languishing. And you're gonna takesome heat for it. Sadly, you will. Europe's a little easier. They seem to understand a little better. So does South America. I went to Argentina one time, and everyone seemed to be sitting around. It was beautiful. But, that's okay. You stay loose. Stay liquid. Laugh a lot. But be ready. That's whatDupree's doing with his life's little pod. Staying nimble, till I get the call from the mother ship. My raison d'etat. Then I fight. Thenyou'll see Dupree coming in here throwing seven different kinds of smoke!

I survive in the world by means of a certain kind of consciousness which, by its crystallized concepts, organizes life into a succession of rigid structures.Through these I can perceive the world rationally, master it systematically, and order it according to fixed values. It is just this form of existence thatveils my awareness of Divine Being. At the centre of this way of life stands the ego which, by its very nature, is solely occupied in establishing andclassifying 'facts'. Around it, evolves continually, its own worldly desires. By means of this ego, I separate myself from unconscious connection withthe oneness of life and assume in the world an attitude of independence and self-assertion. As long as the ego takes up uncompromising attitudes andirrevocably fixed points of view, so will the oneness of life break up into the opposites of I-World/World-I and essential being. This ego's separationfrom the primal core of life and its determined orientation towards the world, bring all growth, all true becoming, all transformation, to a disastrousstandstill. It is true that the need of an ego is capable of objectively mastering the world. But only when I succeed in evolving a form of existence in whichthis world-ego is sustained (though in such a way that it remains at the same time transparent to the Divine Being within) can I become a 'true' man -a 'person' in the ultimate sense, through whose life Greater Life resounds.
