I like some ballroom though.

I like how if you see game worn shorts they can specify the inseam and the seat (I think that's what they call it).

I would like something like a 36" with +3" on the seat and a 6" inseam.

eehh i don't see a major problem here. but, some of these college teams like say, Ohio State, have some huge shorts. seems like they weigh you down a little bit..
