HBO's Series: Game of Thrones (4/17, 9:00-10:05 p.m. ET/PT)

Quick Question for yall, I bought all the books and I've been keeping up with the show. I've been tryna read book 1 but it just feels like a repeat of the show, would you suggest I begin reading from last weeks episode or just reread book 1 straight through? I also got the audiobook for book 1 but it just feels repetitive.

Spoiler [+]
the only major thing left out from the show is ned stark's dream after he gets stabbed in the leg...I think he dreams it again when he is in the dungeon...it is a very important dream sequence/flashback
I think there are excerpts of it online so maybe you can just google that and read it and watch episode 10 and then start on book 2

You can just skim through the first book, and start reading the second.
I should be getting my books in a week or two.  Excited to see what the second book is about.

A LOT of stuff is left out from the book

There was a scene about this when Bran got injured. Jon was talking to him and saying how they were going to ride together in the future or something, and then Lady Stark gave him a dirty @#$ look and told him to leave...and then when Ned Stark came in she started talking about him being a bastard or w/e

i guess i forgot that part because i didn't really know what to look for at the time. But they go further in detail in the book.

Gotta give the show props they nailed most of the depictions.

is Rose the %@@!$% in the book? haven't seen anything on her yet

I don't think she is. She's not an important character at all. I don't know what HBO is trying to do with her in the show.

just powered through the last 4 episodes which i missed since the finale is tonight

tbh, i thought ned would die from the onset of the series. although i really liked him, i also like it when a major character is killed off

putting my order for the hardcover books later tonight
