damn man, sorry to hear. Keep up the fight!

Long covid is really my only fear about getting this disease. I'm a BA when it comes to not feeling my best. And I also don't know what the affects are 5, 10, 15 years from now, know what I mean?
Thanks

Yea... I thought about that, but I've decided not to sweat the long term stuff and just try to keep healthy.

My GF and I just had a conversation about to how navigate these times right now. She tested positive last Wednesday (1/6) but tested negative this week on Monday and Tuesday through rapid tests. I’m being precautious when I’ll see her she cause still has a cough and we don’t live together either. I canceled our trip to Joshua tree for her birthday next but now because I’ve canceled two trips via Covid concerns (last Valentine’s Day cause I got Covid and vaccines weren’t available for me yet), I’m being penalized for not keeping my word on plans because I don’t want to get sick again or anyone in my family sick again (mom and dad last year). It’s just frustrating to know that the times we’re living in aren’t normal for everyone and she doesn’t see it that way and wants to do things as if it was normal. Sorry I had to rant y’all.

I don't like speaking on other people's SO's but she sounds mad selfish.

I’m 44 years old, and prior to this I was prescribed migraine medication, it didn’t even make a dent in the headache at all. The worst one I’ve ever had, it was like a cluster headache, but with migraines Fam.

I never tested positive but for most of the 10 days we were in the house while my son was positive I had a weird headache - not awful but just there all the time and nothing would shift it. Was definitely weird.

I thought about posting an update, but there's not a lot to say.

I returned to Denmark from NYC January 1st. 2020 with pneumonia and have had nerve damage ever since. Spent the last two years trying to find out, if I caught Covid early-early, before we could test and identify cases. Last two months I've been connected to a long covid clinic and while they consider my symptoms to be long covid, they can't really offer anything but occupational therapy. Basically to live healthily and hope it goes away. I've been living with this **** for two years now and consider it to be permanent. I can easily live with the numbness and lack of sensation in my face, fingers and feet, but the internal tremors and great discomfort in my chest, prevents me from sleeping, relaxing and concentrating. I have other health problems, so luckily this doesn't affect me financially, but my quality of life has dropped significantly.

The big positive is that the LC clinic considers my symptoms to be legit, after I spent the last 19 months being dismissed by one MD or specialist after another. My family, who never believed me, finally shut up, after I was accepted by the clinic.

Despite all of this, I'm in a pretty good place.
Has anyone suggested monoclonal antibody therapy to help treat your long COVID symptoms? I don't know the specifics of your situation other than what you've shared, but I've seen some reports of certain monoclonals showing success against long COVID. I'll try to find the source and share it with you.

Going back to the Rogan video: stuff like this is exactly why people who say "I did my research!" need to be taken with a huge grain of salt.

People tend to "do their research" up to the point that confirms their bias and then stop dead in their tracks. You would think the people who cite blood clots and myocarditis as concerns or justifications for their vaccine-hesitancy would compare the probability to acquiring either of those things from COVID, but they don't.

I can't imagine why...

you go looking for it you’re going to find it.

I can “do my research” and it will tell me eating nothing but bacon and hot dogs is healthy if that’s what I want to hear.

I'll believe that when I see it. if they do it it will be some backwards thing where they charge you and your insurance will have to reimburse you for your 500 dollar mask like the tests will be.

his heart is in the right place but this is America.

It’s a little too late on the masks and tests. By the time we get them, the wave will be long over. Hopefully It will lead to a mask free summer.

Rogan is so embarrassing. I was waiting for him to just yell "F YOU!!!" at some point in the conversation

Maybe I should "do my own research" and go and try to build a bridge.
