Hollywood needs to stop with the whitewashing vol. Exodus: Gods and Kings

In the Black women I counter, I think less than 5 percent dye their hair blonde , wear color contacts or dye their skin

And yes more White women get extensions than you think

Also I dont see Black people disown their culture on the regular

Jokingly about someone being dark is no different than people joking about a person being pale, it doesnt mean they are disowning their culture

lol what the hell are you talking about. Shut up. What person with knowledge of self does any of the crap you're talking about? Do you hate Whites and Asians who wear Locs in their hair?
oh so black ppl dont deny diss their own natural hair? lol..... thats funny. so black ppl dont have this whole dark/light im better then you because of one of the other? so there isnt a such thing as "good hair" ...so black folks in large are practicing african cultures and religion and not lining up every sunday at some baptist church?

And its not a overwhelmingly majority of whites/asians rocking fros, locs etc.... and its probably few to none that cut their hair and insert weaves/extensions with black ppl hair texture. outside of taning few if any whites asians etc... go out and buy products to make their skin have the color of black ppl. The same cant be said about blacks. hell and someone mentioned jewish ppl, i bet they dont ridicule and make fun of things like the holocaust (outside of maybe comedians) yet blacks make fun of and ridicule things in their past/history all the time. not to mention that often times they go out and will support mocking and making fun of their culture, history past... more then they will support something uplifting holding things/events of their past.

So I guess we are going act like the tanning industry isn't a 5 billion dollar industry?

Man cut it out :lol

but often times it isnt joking.... and its ppl plenty of black ppl who feel lighter is just better..... its plenty of ppl who see rocking/wearing your hair natural as a negative thing. I bet right now all over america its some black mom talking down to their son telling them they need to "fix" their nappy head... or boy that stuff look a mess.... and they are not joking. Its someone out there right now saying you look good for a darkskin girl. Or someone who feels think she is somewhat a new person or better...because she has hidden her natural texture and slapped in some arm length weave that came from some cambodian child.

Or ignore the amount of Pacific Islanders that are Mormons?

And ignore the amount of Asians that practice Christianity or Islam was their native Animistic religions?

tanning is nowhere near the same thing as bleaching cream, lightening cream.... neither is a white woman who uses extensions to make her hair look fuller and add length to it, isnt the same as a black woman who cuts their hair, get a entirely different grade of hair and hide/replace the natural hair they have.

Its not that your claims don't have weight...but in regards to this topic...how do they relate?

I could see your point if Lil Kim was criticizing Exodus. But to my knowledge nobody in here fits that mold

And guess what, Christianity didn't start in Europe either

They would worshiping sun gods and being pagan too

Tanning is 5 Billion dollar industry to change the appearance of your skin

The bleaching industry is nowhere that big and also its not just Blacks using that stuff

it relates because how can you complain about someone misrepresenting your image aka changing the look of your image, when you pride yourself and change your image in your everyday lives. why complain about not enough historic images etc.... stories about your race, when the numbers show that you would overwhelmingly go see some tyler perry flick or a spoof type flick of black ppl before you would go out and see a malcolm x movie, or something like a hidden colors type of movie.

*sees race thread...
" I bet this turns into hating black women as usual."

yep.

Weave, skin lightning, and color contacts have absolutely nothing to do with this thread.

Stop trying to derail.

but are they doing it to get acceptance from another race? so white women get extensions so they can hopefully garner some sort of favor or be viewed as equal etc... by who exactly. Black ppl do those things to hopefully get acceptance, favor and to possibly seen as an equal.

how does it not, complaning about black ppl not seen in their natural light and as they were aka being played by white actors... weaves color contacts etc... does the exact same thing.

For the 4th time...who is "you"?

Does EVERY black person do the things you're saying?

Are you a Black woman....How the heck would you even venture to assume why some of them do it?

Most Black women prefer to only date Black men, so I don't know how they are doing it to gain acceptance

I see black chicks trying to be "Mixed" all the time.

im going to chime in real quick then go away,

a very good amount of black men date other races due to what they perceive as inefficiencies that our typically innate for black women...ie darker skin complexion, coarse hair texture, larger body types etc... i am not saying that all black women are like that but that is a general perception that has been tailored due to what the media perceives as beauty.

in that attempt black women try to alter those things to not be perceived as inferior. also i dont think its an acceptance thing for black men its a societal acceptance. I see it everyday in the military.

gain acceptance from whites aka work force, aka living in a predominant white area, aka trying to feel accepted in a majority white area/field etc... If you think black woman are bleaching skin/lightening cream etc... wearing weaves just cause, and has absolutely nothing to do with being more accpeted by whites your just being delusional now and dishonest. Its the same as wearing a suit and tie in a corporate setting, its to be accepted, fit in if you will.... the same reasoning is for the weaves etc..... the same for awhile there wasnt black men (especially like news anchors etc...) who wore facial hair outside of a mustache....and never wore anything outside of a pc even all over, a fade or a low fro.

aka looking more ethnic is seen as a bad thing by many ppl, including many black ppl. Folks up here acting like this is some wild crazy assertion im making up, and that its completely baseless.

Classic deflection.

Last couple pages don't even have anything do with the topic.

He has points but they're unrelated to Hollywood whitewashing.

A black person who doesn't fit under the labels he made can criticize Hollywood whitewashing AND black people who live by a european standard of beauty.

Dude is in here acting like 100% of black people do the things he's talking about.

What is an ethnic look for black people. Please tell me.

Whites wanna be a ninja

Blacks wanna be white

Hollywood is probably the biggest stage for racism that still exists. So much so people think actor availability and money are the driving factors.

Took from an earlier post about the movie Lucy:

"So a white woman gives supposedly the original black woman(which they portray as a monkey) the divine spark of consciousness, yet the white woman turns into a black woman when she reaches her peak potential?"

Nothing in Hollywood is by coincidence. People get so wrapped up in the overt message that more times then not the covert messages passes straight by their conscious mind into the subconscious
